And all Taiwanese know that their standards of living have been increasing every generation. I also spent a year working in Singapore where the free market economy creates wealth despite its Totalitarian government.
Only aboriginals (not Chinese) work on farms in Taiwan.

I am asking you to rethink your position on free markets, to acknowledge that there is a balance sheet outside profits and earnings, one that consists of human dignity and justice. Political ties, bribery and nationalistic disturbances set a high entrance fee for such a market, and gov secrecy is counterintuitive to an open information setting. i would argue that these countries did not become rich because they resembled a free market, but they incorporated it into a system of their own.

@bummer2000 My wife is and Fulbright scholar and Taiwanese teacher (working on her PhD in the USA) from one of the top high schools in Taipei. I lived and worked in Taiwan for 1.5 years. And all Taiwanese know that their standards of living have been increasing every generation. I also spent a year working in Singapore where the free market economy creates wealth despite its Totalitarian government.
Only aboriginals (not Chinese) work on farms in Taiwan.

@islandmuffin I am surprised you don't see a contradiction with totalitarian gov's and free markets, China is much closer to a patronage system rather than one of a free market. Political ties, bribery and nationalistic disturbances set a high entrance fee for such a market, and gov secrecy is counterintuitive to an open information setting. i would argue that these countries did not become rich because they resembled a free market, but they incorporated it into a system of their own.

Northwoods never actually happened for one. Even if they did actually do Northwoods, they would probably have done failed attacks, not actual ones.
Besides, 9/11 was huge, it caused a LOT of damage.
The government cares about itself. Damage to the military (Pentagon) + Damage to the economy (the economy has effects on tax dollars) = bad for the government. They wouldn't want to do that to themselves. They wouldn't even NEED to. There are ways to justify war without really hurting yourself.

Thats like implying that the US derived from the word JesUS when infact it means United States. In the implied meaning of the term "Nazi" here the derivative is the German "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei" and came into common use after WWI as being synonymous to this as it's quite a mouthful... and the term "revisionist" means a manipulated, or "revised" version of events to suit one's own needs... keep that in your mind next time you read something with it in the title...
