Great video... So I have searched just about everywhere and - I do have the 62s. A specific question, but are there pieces of information logged for each point recorded on a route? For example, is it possible to find a specific speed traveled during the time that particular point was recorded? This being different than that of the average speed of the total route? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
@ParaglidingSeabass once you download at the track file you are able to view the details of each point of the track file, including speed at that moment.
This is my ultimate destination. No named lakes that we are naming after the man that showed my dad the location. He is 89 now and looking forward to our returning.

@MtnMike1 Garmin has the new birdseye topo subscription. I think it's 30$/year and you download the areas you need. the only disadvantage is that (it is this way for the top maps in canada) the maps are not vector, but just scanned in. Depends how much you need the features on the DVD vs the birdseye.
@thecyr Thanks for the prompt reply. I will look into birdseye today. It sounds like a good program. I am looking to find two lakes in a state park (Castle Crags State Park) that a friend and my father visited in the 1970's. No trail. Even the rangers have never been there. Have made 5 attempts. I will use your suggestions to "Prepare for a hike" and perhaps place a cache.
I bought Mapsource DVD's for ~85 with the 62s. Can get the same on chip to insert. Preference? Return?

Great Videos. Have had a Yellow Etrex, Legend, Vista HCx (rubber came off) and have purchased the 62s.
Question on purchasing Mapsource DVD's vs a chip to insert in the camera. I want the 24K topos of our area. Would you have a preference?
I am in far Northern California, near Oregon. Heading out this weekend, between storms.
