  • THAT was amazing. long live the 747.

  • good thing i dont have to look for MrDaldagnuur's comment

  • or it would be to much of a target considering how big and slow it is (its not that slow but slow enough)

  • they would have to add make it tougher to their modifications list>>>

  • If only a 747 could be converted into a gunship......that would be FREAKING AWESOME!

  • so big and flying so low,..amazing

  • B747s are gorgeous planes, unlike that butt ugly A380.

  • @maddogmcrae hey both are equally good ok

  • @MrStevejr04 But the 747 looks better.

  • @maddogmcrae they look funny well a diffrence in both thats 747:smaller tail and cockpit on top and semi-double decker plane. a380:bigger tail, complete double decker, luxury and regular travel classes. i like both and ya 747 has lil' engines and a380 got big ones

  • Prime example why there have been so many deaths at air shows over the years. Simply zero room for error.

  • @sjtom57 may I presume you are not a risk taker?

  • camera zooms out then you see a tv

  • @TheMachinimaFilms I was there. NO tv just superb piloting. The 747 executed a climbing turn up 5.000 ft and cleared the display area. Just what are you smokin'?

  • :D at 0:37

  • fake and gay

  • @AutumnPolitics How the fuck is it fake?

  • @AutumnPolitics how's it fake? How's it gay? Where you from Zim? Dumbass

  • @AutumnPolitics This is not fake. 1. You haven't gone to a airshow before. 2. South African Airlines has 747s. 3. Airshows displays aircraft. 4. Do some fucking research on 747s and airshows.

  • Beautiful. But that looked like to steep a accent!

  • Comment removed

  • @Blahblobify its obvious they meant "too steep of an ascent." If you couldn't figure that out, maybe you are the idiot. Anyone could see that based on your profile, your age is about 50 years too high.

  • @ThaWhistle Thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Blahblobify and that is "SHE" thank you very much.

  • @Blahblobify Oh well geez I'm sooo sorry that sometimes I misspell things! "too steep of an ascent" There, happy? You do know that planes stall when they ascend at a very sharp angle? And it is quite obvious to others. So, if you wouldn't mind leaving me and others alone for their small mistakes, that would be largely appreciated.

  • simply beautiful

  • Do It have passengers in it?

  • MEU DEUS!!!

  • If was on a plane that the pilot was doing that crap, I would risk a prison term to storm the cockpit and slap the pilot for doing that.

Cool banking none the less though.

  • I a such a big fan thank you!

  • This took place at the Air and Sea airrshow in Ft. Lauderdale back in 1999.

The 747 was in the U. S. for maintenance and was headed back to S. Africa.

    There were no passengers aboard.

  • @markdido What a load of incorrect information, why post it?

  • @LGEARING

Because I was standing on the beach, at the airshow, when it happened?

  • @markdido

So what were the SA registered Phoebus Apollo DC 4 and Cavair doing there at the same time, you dont just hop across the pond (South Africa to USA?)for a trip to see your mate Lebombo 747-200 having a spin after maintanence!

This my friend is at Rand Airshow, just outside Joburg!

  • @LGEARING

    Yep, you're right.

When I saw it, it happened in Ft Lauderdale. Show center was off the beach, so there couldn't have been any aircraft in the foreground. It made one slow, dirty pass, kicked around and then made a clean high speed pass and then headed east over the ocean.

Are the SA Airlines pilots frustrated air show pilots?

Nonetheless, pretty cool to see that much airplane yanking and banking.

    ;)

  • @markdido Nah, they're just damn fine pilots, I saw the SA 747 here in UK at Duxford air show a few years back, the guy flew the entire display within Duxford airspace, no mean feat in a jet that size. Then he spiral climbed her out to 12000 feet. It was truly an amazing display of what the 'Queen' is capable of.

  • geez a lot of dumass comments here

  • At 00:50 the plane shows it's privates:)

  • B747-200

  • thats how boeing got there name because when they fall from the sky and hit the ground they go boeing boeing boeing

  • @skilletracing76 You should be in one of that boeings.

  • 747 ready to fight

  • The only reason this plane hasn't crashed, is the pilot knows his bounds. Flying that low with steep banks would cause the plane to stall, and crash at low altitudes. good Pilot.

  • I liked the part with the plane flying........

  • B747って、結構無茶な飛行が出来るのね・・・

  • These people were very lucky. A 747 is not designed to fly that low

  • @yynnmmbb It has more than enough thrust to fly at whatever altitude as long as the pilot mantains proper airspeed.

  • On Cayley Day (2003 ~ 150 years since the very first "heavier than air flight" in Brompton Dale ~ also 100 years since the very first heavier than air powered flight by the Wrights) Richard Branson got one of his 747s to fy low level up and down Brompton Dale. Absolutely incredible sight!

  • boring\!!!!!!!!! i thought it was going to crash

  • Very cool, beautiful plane.

  • beaultiful!

  • simply the most beautiful passenger plane ever....

  • The Queen haveing something done to her that rarely ever happens... Being flown by a pilot, not the computers on board. F-ing awesome. :)

  • south african is one of the best airlines ive been on

  • What happens at the end!?!

  • hahah, look at the plane at 0:38

  • hahah, look at the plane at 0:38

  • @larsrn5 lol

  • fuck south african!!!!

  • @CockpitpilotB737 fuck you bitch.

  • @ilovebrasilful

    fuck you too nigger

  • @CockpitpilotB737 why do you think calling me that will offend me. i love being black. i just thank God i wasnt born a pasty cracker.

  • Comment removed

  • @CockpitpilotB737

I bet you came to this video just to say that word.

  • @CockpitpilotB737 .. Say im wrong??

  • good pilot

  • haha baby screamed. OMFG thats gonna crash

  • planes shold not show off jets yes but no plane or u want a mini 9/11

  • @jeffhardy664 Your gay.

  • @BJWTF a joke man

  • All fun and games until someone in business class spills their drink.

  • lol screaming baby

  • Imagine how crazy the terrain warning would be going?

    "Terrain, PULL UP!"

  • @RusscynAlpaca More like "Terrain, Terrain, Terrain, Full Throttle, Full Throttle." You give more than 1 inch of sudden pull on the stick when you're in the low altitude thick air you're screwed.

I guarantee you that they only feature these huge well designed brick planes when the Doppler says there's 0% chance of any funny business downdrafts or freak puffs of straight-line wind blasts.

I seen the 2nd WTC plane practice like this at Marion, Illinois in July 2001.

  • Meu pai comprou um desse a semana passada...

  • Of course you got the crying baby...

  • Do you guys know who the crew was? Is this the same 200 that is no parked at Rand airport?

  • STALL TO DA DEATH ! >:-)

  • fantastic pictures...chapeau

  • subv to me i sub back

  • sssshhhhuuuummmm

  • If it ain't a Boeing, we ain't a going!

  • 0:38 what is so funny so thatplane in the backgrund is loughin

  • one of the most manuverable and best flying aircraft, its not the presidents plane just for size. this plane can and will roll and do things u would think could only b possible with a much smaller plane

  • cool it looked like it was gonna crash though

  • I wonder what it could do with a bomb-bay >:D

  • Gimme RPG >:D

  • @MrDaldagnuur why would you want to shoot that down you sick bastard!?

  • @zbehlik5 Typical Fag... -.-"

  • @MrDaldagnuur dude take it easy i was just kidding

  • @MrDaldagnuur you are a douche

  • A 747 at an air show is like drifting with an SUV haha

  • @pendejadafcc more like drifting with a bus.

  • this is why i don't like planes -_-

  • New boing jet airliner

  • damit bin ich vorgestern in frankfurt gelandet!

  • Does anyone know what air show this was at?

  • @bassplaya1549

    Rand Airport in Germiston

Johannesburg, South Africa. This was not an airshow. SAA retired Lebombo from their fleet. one of their oldest 747-200's. They donated it to the museum at Rand. stilll parked their as a museum piece. this was its last flight. I see it everyday when i fly- parked right off r 29

  • @bassplaya1549

    Rand airport, johannesburg South Africa.

Not an airshow. Lebombos last flight to its final resting place just off r29.

one of SAA's oldest 747-200's retired from the fleet and donated to the museum at Rand. See it everday on final approach on 29. its an awesome sight indeed. parked right next to the 747-sp which was also retired from the fleet

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • @Chimpstheclown "What's the big idea Fox?!"

  • They should have a 747-8 at an air show. But not an A380-A380 is just a big useless failure. I can list all of the reasons why the 747-8 beats the A380 by a long shot.

  • @DNETV yep I guess all those airlines that keep buying the Airbus must be controlled by incompetent idiots... Strange how some of them have grown quite big?

  • @peto0101 Actually Continental Airlines has an all Boeing fleet and is the 5th leading airline in the world. And the A380 is too big. The greedy company known as Airbus made the A380 for fame only-it's so big that airports have to make modifications for it to land there, it can't land at many airports, and it's wings scrape buildings. Boeing actually cares about passengers, so the 747-8 has business class suites that are better than any A380 first class suite, (continues in next comment)

  • @peto0101 (this is a continuation of the first comment-read the first comment first, then continue reading this one)--> separate economy class full flat beds, amazing interior lighting that is changeable by color and brightness, amazing sky lofts, big passenger lounges, better bars, and also it's way more environmentally friendly and efficient than the A380. The A380 just has size, which as I explained in the first comment is a bad thing. Airbus only cares about fame.

  • @DNETV Thanks for the sales pitch, you really should apply for a job with Boeing. However Airbus has some salespeople too and they are making sales. Airbus must be doing something right, at least as good or better than boeing or no-one would buy one.

  • @peto0101 Sales pitch? What are you talking about? And yes Airbus is still doing good-they are a good company. Although they are just behind Boeing. Boeing is the number one manufacturer in the world (by most popular, most used, and best voted) and Airbus is second right behind Boeing. But even if a manufacturer is down more at the bottom of the list, that doesn't mean that no one would buy them. If an aircraft manufacturer never had one sale, they'd be bankrupt and out of business fast.

  • fannybaba youre a fool

  • great shots of the plane! fabulous video!

  • battle cruiser operational

  • 747: HAHA take that F22 i can do that to HAhA you cant even take passengers HAHA.

  • Wish it was zoomed out some more. The shots lack perspective.

  • he could have done a loop the loop or something.........jeez

  • what is a 747 sp???

  • @camden199 lol lol lol my tag is romet747 :D and planes name is boeing 747. I started knowing that when I was playng roblox :D

  • @romet747 fail

  • Too bad it is not a 747SP...it could fly circles around that 3 or 400. But its a Boeing, so I am satisfied, immensely! Just like it's little brother, you could barrel roll that baby at a safe altitude without any problem. Like to see that, I would!

  • The 747 sure was a great airplane. Too bad that they've being taken out of service.

  • @JackKangaroo1 I didnt know that what are they using now?

  • @HaloHamstur / Now mostly 767 and A-380 aircraft due to greater fuel efficiency. Pilots loved the 747 and called it "Fat Albert" because it was easy to fly but it was not fuel efficient by today's standards and is being fazed out because of that reason.

  • wow

  • Ooh, cheeky slut. Showing off your landing gear ;) hahaha

  • its amazing how small those engines are and still support that weight

  • @theunknown117 Those small engines still have a 2.5m diameter :)

  • ive llways wanted to go to new york but im kindqa scared of rideing in a plane

  • Russian PAK-FA 2nd Flight 4 minutes

    watch?v=pCc3xhgPVZI

  • The name of the pilot is schallie levin ,he is a crazy bugger he diplays various stunt planes and aerobatics at south african airshows

  • great vid

  • thats pretty gangsta

  • great pilot????

  • fascinating, hundrets of tons flying in the air like this haha ^^

  • AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • Dam That thing is big but beautiful at the same time

  • one of these in america was misjudged and the pilot crashed into a forest killing over 50 people

  • i was there whooohooo

  • fUNNY YOU SAY THAT? Your better off with silk instead of matt paint on bedroom ceilings.

  • i watched this hoping there wud be death... DISLIKE!

  • low flyby

  • I was waiting the crash :(

  • wooot World Cup 2010 :p

  • AircraftCompare DOTcom ..all you want to know about business jets, passenger jets, helicopters or military aircraft from price to specs to photo gallery and interiors.

  • you sure they didnt turn the camera side ways?

  • look at how it almost goes vertical at the end.

  • This is no longer the cold-war and both sides were stealing so, I really dont care.

  • what country make this plane jumbo 747

  • amazing

  • Mind you seeing Boeing 747 piggybacking a space shuttle on the back is very impressive. I would have never thought in million years that would be possible.

  • Empire,

yes i do love it watch on tv about a space shuttle on the jumbo 747,,,

    it is so pretty show,,,

i dont like ussr russia did that copy steal from america

  • lol that baby is freaking out!

  • what strobelight is that on the belly?

  • Its an anti-collision light

  • Avião lindo

  • Nothing special...go see the portugal air show in evora 2007

  • Wow least it didnt crash like that jack ass pilot who slammed a B-52 headfirst into the ground. I will never ever get a jet airliner ever again, too fucking scared of heights!

  • @EmpireLS56KW oohh u saw that vid too the B-52 crash the Fairchild AFB sad and horrific shit right there

  • I think most that are ether fascinated with air-flight have seen that video. I prefer to watch the magnificent men in theyre flying machines from a same distance.

  • nothing special.... check the "TAP airbus low pass"...

  • ...in Evora 2007... SHOW!!! =)

  • dingoklectos, that's exactly why Capt. Scully Levin (and not guys like you and I) with >20,000 career hours is entrusted to fly the Boeing 747 at airshows by the CAA.

The risk is mitigated by experience, training, and intense planning prior to the show. And as far as the banking goes, with sufficient speed you can safely bank fairly aggressively.

  • I prefer boing instead of airbus shieet

  • they both are ok but i prefer boeing too

  • Beautiful!

  • Awesome Plane :)

  • It's one thing to see military planes do stunts. It's so much cooler to see these huge bath tubs doing things you didn't think they could do! Got to see a FedEx 727 do a 600mph pass 50 ft. off the deck and then go into a 60 degree climb up to about 12k ft. in no time flat!!!!

    THAT was cool!!

  • It may look cool, but banking huge airplane jets at <400 ft is no laughing matter. A small stall can mean total disaster.

I don't even bank my tiny cessna at 1000ft before touchdown. I only do extremely light banking (<5degrees) before flaring.

  • 600mph, huh?

Too bad that top speed is derived at cruising altitude. Sea level is reduced down to around 400mph, max.

  • Not when you dive down from 5000 ft. and pull up right above the deck! My point is that it was REALLY impressive to see...

  • bom!
