You know, compared to the other scouts, she get a whole lot of crap. No one ever appreciates her either. Sure, they all say how smart she is but anyone can get good grade like her if only they studied hard enough. Everyone says how strong Lita is and how cool Sailor Mars's powers are. And then they look at Mercury and scoff because all she can do is make some mist. Well, it may be true that she's not the strongest scout physically, but she's been able to withstand so much trauma. MERCURY POWER!
Listen to (or read, lol) what she was saying before they left Ami behind. She just up and acknowledged that Rei and Minako are stronger than her and would be able to protect Usagi more efficiently than her. So, by that logic, it makes more sense for her to provide as much as a distraction she could for the enemy while they continue on.

That are guy form but change to female when they transform. so yeah.. they suck.. bring it back and put it on adult swim the way it's meant to be. for us adults. LOL
As cruel as this may sound, I actually find it quite funny that the people in this show die, then come back so many times that you actually have to label their deaths.

I'm from freaking Mexico and we got the FULL thing on national TV! With all the violence, the nudity and the homosexuality. As a gay man, I'm glad that as a kid I could see that same sex love was okay even if it was just a cartoon. It meant a lot to me now that I think about it. That's probably why Michiru was my favourite sailor.

Did Mercury make a bubble shield the moment she went into the fire ball? Mercury's bubble always confused me. The main obvious purpous is to make a fog. Then she uses once as a offence once just blasting bubbles at the person (not making them freeze) and here it surrounds her.

Yes I've heard that too. But with the hyper-sensitive state that parents are in due to the erroneous belief that children are fragile flowers that will wilt at the slightest upsetting event, it does not surprise me.
Then again I'm of the belief that children should not be sheltered from life and that parents need to talk with their kids about the realities of life as such needs arise, regardless of if the topic is harsh or uncomfortable.

Well parents are going to love me then with my reimagining of Sailormoon. It's darker, more dramatic, and while it has lessons that middle schoolers would do well to see, a lot of parents will take issue with the darkness of the stories.
I will admit her Aqua Mirage is a very powerful attack, as is her Aqua Rhapsody. As for being more powerful, that's debatable, I've never actually sat down to compare the damage the attacks do.
However, due to the nature of the production, I highly doubt there was some formula used in the writing to determine the strengths of the attack as what one my find in a game like Final Fantasy or another turn-based RPG.

You do have a point about the hypothermic effect such temperatures would have. From other scenes showing the punishment their bodies can withstand, it would be reasonable to assume that the body of a Senshi can take a lot more punishment then the body of a standard human. Such resilience may very well include a much greater resilience to the cold.

Oh they did indeed die, if you've seen the other ones, it's clear they are dead. However, Princess Serenity's last wish before she died from using the Silver Crystal was that its power let them live a normal life. Thus everyone was restored to the life they had before they were awakened as Sailor Soldiers.
i grew up with the dub version and early last year i finally started watching sm in jap. i know that the dubbed edited out so much content, but if anyone's seen this scene in the dub they know that the whole smacking upside the head never happened. i guess they didnt want kids to do the same. i get that. but why edit out when mercury prevents the enemy from creating more illusions? i thought she had a pointless death until i saw the original version
Mercury knew she was defensive only, so she was prepared to lose the battle; however, she managed to figure out the jewel was the source of the hallucinations and she did what she could before dying. i thought was pretty cool.
later though her attacks are like all attack, no defense what soever, her last one in ami's first love literally makes them explode after the girl is frozen

Actually Sailor Moon did die by using the Silver Crystal. But because the Silver Crystal channels both life energy and emotions, Usagi's last wish that everyone could live a normal life was granted, thus bringing everyone back to life. Just as everyone had been sent to the future per Queen Serenity's wish when she used the Silver Crystal in the Si;ver Millennium.
As for the 200 episodes, Naoko Takeuchi created five story arcs within the manga she created. Now, well the anime doesn't faithfully follow the manga because the two were being created simultaneously, the anime does include all 5 arcs, and it just took 200 eps to allow Naoko to create her manga and wrap up events in both the manga and the anime.
lol it's a rip of Mini Me. Maybe if Mini Me had not come out in Austin Powers 2 several months before, I'd have a different view on the name, but since it was clearly a rip of Mini Me I took an immediate dislike to it.
lol We all have those days. and while it's true that Sailor Moon was in production long before the Austin Powers movies, the dubs of seasons 3 & 4 featuring Chibi Moon were not made until after the movies came out.
Perhaps I'd feel differently about the name if Mini Me hadn't been all over in the months prior to the dub's release, especially considering the translation of "Chibi"

I totally agree, though in a way, having them captured still took them from her. But then to cut out that touching scene when they return to give her strength. And during the final battle when they return again and give their strength to Princess Serenity. Looking back it doesn't make sense how they could appear like that if they were still alive.

Did Mercury make a bubble shield the moment she went into the fire ball? Mercury's bubble always confused me. The main obvious purpous is to make a fog. Then she uses once as a offence once just blasting bubbles at the person (not making them freeze) and here it surrounds her.

The story goes that even Japanese parents flooded the network with calls because this episode upset their kids so much. Unerstandable really. I squall like a baby everytime I watch it.

Yes I've heard that too. But with the hyper-sensitive state that parents are in due to the erroneous belief that children are fragile flowers that will wilt at the slightest upsetting event, it does not surprise me.
Then again I'm of the belief that children should not be sheltered from life and that parents need to talk with their kids about the realities of life as such needs arise, regardless of if the topic is harsh or uncomfortable.

Thats true, but was in Japan, where you think they'd be used to characters dying like flies. Not like in America where we apparently have to protect those precious little snowflakes from every hint of a bad thing.

Well parents are going to love me then with my reimagining of Sailormoon. It's darker, more dramatic, and while it has lessons that middle schoolers would do well to see, a lot of parents will take issue with the darkness of the stories.

But I think her special attack 'aqua mirage' stronger than any sailor sensei attack (except sailor moon,maybe).do u think that's true?

I will admit her Aqua Mirage is a very powerful attack, as is her Aqua Rhapsody. As for being more powerful, that's debatable, I've never actually sat down to compare the damage the attacks do.
However, due to the nature of the production, I highly doubt there was some formula used in the writing to determine the strengths of the attack as what one my find in a game like Final Fantasy or another turn-based RPG.

You do have a point about the hypothermic effect such temperatures would have. From other scenes showing the punishment their bodies can withstand, it would be reasonable to assume that the body of a Senshi can take a lot more punishment then the body of a standard human. Such resilience may very well include a much greater resilience to the cold.

Oh they did indeed die, if you've seen the other ones, it's clear they are dead. However, Princess Serenity's last wish before she died from using the Silver Crystal was that its power let them live a normal life. Thus everyone was restored to the life they had before they were awakened as Sailor Soldiers.

i grew up with the dub version and early last year i finally started watching sm in jap. i know that the dubbed edited out so much content, but if anyone's seen this scene in the dub they know that the whole smacking upside the head never happened. i guess they didnt want kids to do the same. i get that. but why edit out when mercury prevents the enemy from creating more illusions? i thought she had a pointless death until i saw the original version

Mercury knew she was defensive only, so she was prepared to lose the battle; however, she managed to figure out the jewel was the source of the hallucinations and she did what she could before dying. i thought was pretty cool.

Actually Sailor Moon did die by using the Silver Crystal. But because the Silver Crystal channels both life energy and emotions, Usagi's last wish that everyone could live a normal life was granted, thus bringing everyone back to life. Just as everyone had been sent to the future per Queen Serenity's wish when she used the Silver Crystal in the Si;ver Millennium.

As for the 200 episodes, Naoko Takeuchi created five story arcs within the manga she created. Now, well the anime doesn't faithfully follow the manga because the two were being created simultaneously, the anime does include all 5 arcs, and it just took 200 eps to allow Naoko to create her manga and wrap up events in both the manga and the anime.

Chibi Moon or as she was so horribly named in the dub, Mini Moon, wasn't around in the first season, so she did not die. But everyone else did.

lol it's a rip of Mini Me. Maybe if Mini Me had not come out in Austin Powers 2 several months before, I'd have a different view on the name, but since it was clearly a rip of Mini Me I took an immediate dislike to it.

lol We all have those days. and while it's true that Sailor Moon was in production long before the Austin Powers movies, the dubs of seasons 3 & 4 featuring Chibi Moon were not made until after the movies came out.
Perhaps I'd feel differently about the name if Mini Me hadn't been all over in the months prior to the dub's release, especially considering the translation of "Chibi"

Yeah, they should've kept the scene and have them dead just like the original anime intended. I mean, it's through losing important things that helps Usagi become a stronger person, after all.

I totally agree, though in a way, having them captured still took them from her. But then to cut out that touching scene when they return to give her strength. And during the final battle when they return again and give their strength to Princess Serenity. Looking back it doesn't make sense how they could appear like that if they were still alive.
