@portabletiger Thank you. Poor Giuseppi fell and broke his hip. It is very sad. He wanted crutches and he wanted to just leave but the MD said he needs surgery. He said “double jeopardy”... at his age that is not good. He misses his instruments. Thanks so much for watching, commenting and caring.
@Suzannahartist What an amazing story, together with the reuniting of Guiseppe and his son Jaee. I was not familiar with Mr. Logan and his music until I discovered your posts on YouTube. Healing service by compassionate community members such as yourself is important to our collective well-being. Thank you for what you are doing.
Did you hear, He know has a 1-room apartment at 4th street, He also told me that he works at a bar, things are going on better for him. Also did you hear that he has a new CD?
I have a playlist of 17 YouTubes telling GL's story. You can see his sliver of a home...it is a studio space the size of a closet but he is happy to have a home close to the park and it is filled with his instruments people either gave him or he bought. I take you to the CD signing party in China Town. Thanks for finding me and enjoy the GL series. More exciting good news is coming.
Thanks and gratitude. Pete Gershon's piece was powerful. Thanks for your comment. You don't know how much it means to me. I am adding more footage right now including GL getting his hair cut in preparation for the release of his new CD.
Thanks for your comment. Please look up the YouTube Giuseppie Logan playing begin the beguine Tompkins Square Park. That was my first and apparently I rocked the jazz world because people thought he was dead. Pete Gershon wrote a moving piece "Out From the Shadow" in Signal to Noise. I have a playlist of YouTubes I made plus a YouTube I found of him in the same park from the 1960's with his son and dog. Very moving...Thanks for our comment. So happy to hear you are playing his music.
Suzannahartist,I've been moved by G L's story.I can empathise with him in many ways.I too play sax and flute in the street and on the beach (UK weather permitting). Also had plenty of "problems".Glad there are a few people like you around who actually care.God Bless.
You know, I want to see that bass clarinet repaired as much as you and Giuseppi do, but he makes it sound AMAZING as is.

Perhaps people like Wynton and others with the wherewithal can at least help repair his instrument. Thanks for documenting his current situation.
