  • Detroit goes harder .. It all started here

  • It Gives Me Mad Goose Bumps When People Like The Person Who Made This Video Recognize The Power Of P.l.u.r peace love unity respect. :)

  • Classic statement made at the 5:00 mark - perfectly encapsulates the essence and spirit of the scene. Props for the whole video. In the beginning of the video the camera pans across a sea of old rave flyers, and @ 1:02 into the movie there is a flyer in the middle with a smiley face wearing Indian feathers of which was a flyer for Acid Breaks with Ghostribe which was the first massive I spun at back in the 90's, under a different name. Props to Frank Nitty & DJ Ghost; nice guys. Miss it!

  • DAMN! I miss Maritime Hall and 2nd & Jackson! What happened to the scene? San Francisco used to be the HOUSE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! I don't know.....it used to be something different.....something special. To all the B-boys and all the B-girls! We need to take it back! I wish I could hop into a time machine and re-live all of the awesome experiences I've had, but the scene will forever live on in my heart!

  • im an la raver but i love raving in the bay :) its like a little raver vacation haha

  • im stil sort of new to the bays rave scene but years 2007/08 were the best in my life. those memories of raves/clubs nd the after parties to all those will never leave my head. X^D

  • damn....the campbell spot? antioch spot? those days were hella sicc.....good memories, i don't regret not one single party..

  • man I really do love raves. Even though i don't know what it was like 8 or 10 years ago, when everyone says it was so much better, raves are still amazing places. I'm from colorado, and we have some parties with some amazing crowds and vibes.

  • that looks like chris lawarence at 1:48

  • Sorry I lauged offa megabuzz...sometimes I feel angry about the way things died, it was my culture, my tribe, my people....you could be anyone or anything....it was a paradise of what the world could be in many ways....it made me a better person...sorry y'all I'm gettin' all sentimental now..lol....ONE LOVE

  • Here Here!

  • The rave gave us not only the escape, but proof that we could be happy for no reason at all. In that time, what we found was a world that was bright and good and popluated by people that loved you no matter who you were, where you were from, or what you looked like. As soon as you walked through the door...you just became a "raver." You stopped being a stranger and instantly became a friend.

  • True words comrade, just wish we knew what we had...and did something tangible with it...i.e. changed some aspect of society with all that love...I will always be a "raver," it must evolve and remain true to it's roots in the new coming.

  • FUNKDAFIED, SPIRIT OF GIVING, LUV A FAIR, EFFLOURESCENCE, STRICTLY UNDERGROUND, THE GATHERING, ARE WE ALL ONe?

  • dude said megabuzz...omg....rofl.

  • 98-99 was the shit, long live all ravers of that era, and the ones before, shit ain't the same now....nowhere near...it's DEAD.

  • its not all lost. I was way to young to be raving in 99 since i was only 13 years old. But I was very lucky last year to go to a festival in Canada (WEMF). There where 4000 strong ravers enjoying the music like shown on this video under the stars until 8:30 in the morning. They showcased a lot of old school talent since it was a throw back year. I had the most fun in ages got a free t-shirt and Cd from one of the Djs which i thought was the coolest thing at the time.

  • "Rave" imo is a corpse...but like any corpse it simply changes...and flowers grow and bloom again...with a different name....the new name will express a purpose....nothing lasts without a reason...Rave was an (r) evolutionary act at one time...dig it....hedonism will always be like dust in the wind....It's the concept of what could be that is still alive....Rave is dead.....a new movement must be born...with a purpose..Peace and Respect.

  • nice video, i wish i could've been part of your guys generation of ravers, my generation all disappeared and now its dominated by ptots and thugs

  • what places did you go to?

  • One crew's opinions interspersed with video collage of ravers.

  • 2nd+jackson <3

  • isn't it crazy that none of these places exist anymore. like 85th and baldwin anyone? I was like in my teens and now I have this wonderful and expensive college education that can buy me just about anything I want materialistically yet nothing in my life compares to how I felt at those parties. years 1998-2000 in SF were the best of my life!

  • 85th and baldwin.........wow, so many memories, HomeBass, the little loft where we went to so many undergrounds but I never figured out where it was..lulz, Santa Ravah parties, The GATHERING, head rush of love...big up sistah! 97-2000 was MAGIC!!

  • 1998-2004 for maiself ;]

first party was gathering (7?) at 85th n baldwin.. then orgin 1998-1999 - three rooms open at 2nj... dj dropped prince at midnight and all hands were in tha air...

    nothing compares.
