  • looks almost mirror. very clear

  • You know the BIG Satellite dishes? I thought man one of those would make a kick ass cooker. Just not sure how one would go about covering the surface with a reflective material; I see them for free if you lug it off their property. I am going to have to get my hands on one. Is it Mylar you are using or that Foil tape? Where do you get your Mylar?

  • I got the Mylar off ebay and glued it to the dish with spray adhesive ...The kind i got is real thin and hard to keep wrinkles out .. ...you can get it up to 4mil thick ...I am in the process of of trying to chrome a small one and see how that works ..

  • That's a nice dish. You could drill a hole in the bottom center of the dish and insert a fitting with a 1/4" barb with a shut off valve. If you insert a tube to the barb and connect that to a vaccum pump or even a vaccum cleaner migh work, you would be able to make a perfect dish with no wrinkles. you would have to fold and seal the mylar on the outer edge of the bowl though.

    Cheers!

  • I have the same problem. I live in Hilo, Hi. The sun came out today for about 15 minutes 4 different times.

  • I disagree: HOT!

  • definitely hot lol

  • To get the wrinkle issue solved, trying cutting the mylar into 2 inch strips, applying each seperately until the dish is covered. You can eliminate nearly ALL the wrinkles no matter how deep the curve.

  • yeah I wish I would have done 2x2 these on here i cut bout 3x4 or so ....

  • Cool :-)
