People here had been told that Tsunami might attack the town, but nobody could imagine this enormous water rolling-in. These evacuated young guys are saying that OMG My/Your house is gone! hahaha, and finally they found out the whole town is gone and lost their words.
I've always felt tsunami's are the most terrifying, awe inspiring phenomena on our planet. After searching out all the footage on the Japan catastrophe, THIS is the most incredible video I've seen. If you stick to the end, there is a shocking "before and after" picture of this unfortunate town. Also, notice the open area of traffic as the wave approaches. You can clearly see cars, buses, and possibly cyclists apparently unaware of the approching wall of water. Absolutely incredible.
at the beginning its quite unspectacular.some water flowing down a street. and then...nobody could ever assume that power of that wave.there is nothin similar that a human brain can imagine.
@Pedrofrombrazil Most modern Japanese houses are made of steel frames and reinforced concrete. Go back a few decades and many are made of corrugated steel and wood. Further back, just wood. There are others of course, but these were the three most common types in the area of Japan where I lived, which was a fairly rural town. That tan house in on the left of the screen is one of the modern ones and it seems to have held up well, though I'm sure the first floor was devastated.
Just horrific at what hell on earth is! Simply beyond any human words can say about life and death... I love you people of Japan, I'm so sorry for your losses...

omg i hate watching these vidios it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sadddddddd
One asked why some people were still there when the tsunami arrived. Notice the size of the city with it's narrow streets and imagine trying to drive across it while everyone else is doing the same. I saw a few driving and right before the water, some on bicycles and foot. I doubt any escaped unscathed.
it's crazy to see a town just erased like that.
