The problem is that Bush Tax Cuts are continuing to stunt economic growth by allowing large corporations to keep extra capital with no fear of having it taxed. Raising taxes on them would force them to invest that capital into growing their company spurring the economy in a positive direction.

I think the reason why Lightning hasn't struck John Boehner is because God is willing to tolerate a Jesuit who lies some of the time (Boehner) than he would a Jesuit who lies most of the time (Bill Press, Chris Matthews).
