LOL. George Washington was a progressive. Just read his writings. Oh, sorry, I forgot. Conservatives can't read because they think education is socialist.
If Washington was more leaning toward Hamilton, and Hamilton wanted an extremely powerful central government, and now Washington is a right wing extremist, does that mean that Obama is now the Fascist Party chairman?
@joktu Ann, Rush, Sarah, Mark, and especially good ole Ronnie Reagan are the problems with the Republican Party. As a life long supporter of Right wing politics, I must say I feel ever since Reagan, the corporations have influenced my party to the point it is no longer for the people. Reaganomics has propelled our country in a downward spiral that will turn us into a third world nation very soon. I believe the answers are in the teaching of Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin.
@joktu Their not leaders, their just the people we use to get people riled up, kinda like the guys at games who go all out with body paint and giant hats and get everybody to do the wave.
The only problem with this comment is that TRUE Conservatives were not in office and haven't been since Reagan and even then there was a Dem congress.
@nafaidni again the congressional budget office has blamed the cureent recession under the 2007 congres. who controlled congress then? oh yeah the liberals. and a war who has saved million of iraqis, and afghanis from a dictator, and allowed them to live freely, with running water, schools, and shelter... its not that liberals are ignorant, its that they know so much that isnt true... Ronald Reagan right again.
Funny, show me the source for that claim. I thought the housing crisis, which was largely caused by the Federal Reserve (under Bush appointed Ben Bernanke) setting low interest rates on housing, encouraging people to make loans they couldn't pay back.
P.S. Reagan was a fool who increased the debt/GDP for the first time since WWII, and by 20% or so. He increased the nominal debt by 187%. He set a new precedent for unsustainable spending followed by H.W. Bush and W. Bush.
@nafaidni yes the liberal congress of 2006, forced through a bill that forced bankers to give out high risk loans. so yes look it up on the congressional budget office. p.s. we had debt after world war 2.. and no he actually made money, except for his military spending. his military spending was caused to build up our military, that was dismantled by jimmy carter, and built it up even more to protect us against the soviets. thank you, for proving reagan again correct.
That doesn't have anything to do with it. The regulations in the bill still adhered to rules of safety in lending. Unless you can list a specific series of failed loans that the bill was directly responsible for making, you can't make that argument out of thin air.
Plus this bill has existed for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS. The only changes to it by the 2006 Congress were that low-income education loans would be a determinant of adherence, And education loan defaults are NOT an issue.
For those who may not know the group who sings this song is "The Right Brothers". They have a lot of great political sdongs. Such as , "Bush was Right", "I'm in Love with Ann Coulter", " Stop Global Whinning", and one about Rosie O'Donnell.

Name the bill and the source where you got the claim that it caused bankers to give risky loans.

@nafaidni 2006 bank bill. not sure the exact bill. look it up on the CBO's website.

@nafaidni It was called the Community Reinvestment Act. Forced the banks to redline loans.
