Q: Is the HD 6670 any good??. From what I've read [so far] is that it's not really that good or is it??. My impression from most PC gamers is that, getting a decent GPU will last you for quite a while. Affordable but yet decent.

If you compare a stock 6670 the it wont be that good. just look at the 360 wiki hardware and you will see the put in multipule dies to release stress off the GPU they maxed out the bandwidth they did a tone of shit that you guys on ur pcs cant do unless ur actually reengineer ur own cards. 6670 is a base model then the clock, insert dies, cores and other shit read the wiki for urself. just like the360 but 6670 isnt ment to overheat as much so it will in the end do DX11 with no stress

IGN = Xbots. 6670 has the DX11, but the Wii U's HD 4870 GPU will be more powerful than that garbage. Seeing both of those GPU's for PC, 6670 only takes power from the PCI-E x16, no six or eight pin power plugins. 4870 has two PCI-E six pin connections, and performance is obviously stronger.

Considering they were planning for a 2014 launch, I would not be surprised if they waited a year or two and released a moderately powered console that blew away the 720 and Wii U and tried to market towards the "luxury" part of the console market.
They don't really have a choice if they're not prepared to launch in 2012 or 2013 and Microsoft and Nintendo have the casual market locked up. If they wait, the cost of a powerful console relative to the others will be low. They just need to make development analogous to the other consoles so the extra power is practical and not just theoretical.

The 5 series are re-branded cards. You can easily overclock a 480 to well surpass a stock 580, a 470 to surpass a 570 and surprisingly enough the only one you can't is the 460. And that's because the 460 was them cutting down cost to have some rival the 5 series in that price range.
Again, you can overclock them to base levels of their "next-gen" cards. Hell, I tasted all flavors of the 5 series this year and you easily overclock a 560 ti to beat a 570 at stock, a 570 to beat a 580 at stock. Hell, I might sell my 580 for a keplar.

IGN = Xbots. 6670 has the DX11, but the Wii U's HD 4870 GPU will be more powerful than that garbage. Seeing both of those GPU's for PC, 6670 only takes power from the PCI-E x16, no six or eight pin power plugins. 4870 has two PCI-E six pin connections, and performance is obviously stronger.

They don't really have a choice if they're not prepared to launch in 2012 or 2013 and Microsoft and Nintendo have the casual market locked up. If they wait, the cost of a powerful console relative to the others will be low. They just need to make development analogous to the other consoles so the extra power is practical and not just theoretical.

@xxalchemist1128xx Yes but my take on this is that a good chunk of the Wii's user base won't upgrade to the WiiU because their casuals and to me a chunk of those guys that want something "new" or "revolutionary" will jump ship with Microsoft and it's Kinect kind of splitting the casual market. If the casual market splits then there's no advantage to casual consoles to rule next gen and this is why I think Sony will rules this gen.

The 5 series are re-branded cards. You can easily overclock a 480 to well surpass a stock 580, a 470 to surpass a 570 and surprisingly enough the only one you can't is the 460. And that's because the 460 was them cutting down cost to have some rival the 5 series in that price range.

Again, you can overclock them to base levels of their "next-gen" cards. Hell, I tasted all flavors of the 5 series this year and you easily overclock a 560 ti to beat a 570 at stock, a 570 to beat a 580 at stock. Hell, I might sell my 580 for a keplar.
