I'm as red as it gets. After doing the usual SWP routine in my teens I considered joining the labour party last year, ended up going for the Greens instead, the only electoral party which advocates any form of socialism any more.

However, until such a time that the apparatus of the Labour Party functions as it should for the good of our class, we need to educate as to the failures and the discrepancy's between what the modern day Labour party represents and the political party that was created by the trade unions with a view to giving our class a political voice.

Labour had to change to survive after the collapse of the Soviet Union and sadly the centre left took power and moved the true left to the side.
Still we're better off with 12 years of New Labour than we would have been with 12 more years of the Conservatives. If we'd had more of failed Tory policies and John Major we'd really be in trouble and I'm talking Great Depression trouble.
Don't forget it was Marget Thatcher (milk snatcher) who deregulated the banks and caused this crisis.

When Socialism collapsed they appeared to be wrong so Blair got rid of this part and moved Labour right.
