The Wii Zapper is just a shell. It doesn't affect the functioning of the Remote and Nunchuk except to make them into a single unit. For this (and my newer, improved) RE4 script, that's not an ideal configuration.
There is a mouse mod you can apply to let you play with one, but the game doesn't support the mouse officially. The mouse mod emulates the analog stick of a controller.
By default, the game doesn't support a mouse. Only keyboard or gamepads. There's a mouse-aim mod, but it makes the mouse emulate the analog stick on a game pad. Check out my Wiidux video to see my improved, more responsive script.
The Wii version includes all the content that was added for the PS2 version, but with the the superior lighting engine, geometry detail, and textures of the Gamecube version, and anamorphic widescreen.
This is the PC version, though, and while it has the PS2 extras, it also has the worst graphics (and controls) of any of the versions.
To try and make it suck less use a mouse mod for RE4 and then see if you can use IR for aim. No offense I know its cause of a crappy port if you use anything besides gamepad but after playing the real Wii Edition this would feel like crap.
The mouse aim mod didn't help. That makes a mouse emulation joystick inputs, which adds another layer of complication. View my Wiidux video to see the better solution I found. It plays quite well with the revised script, though I still wouldn't give up my official Wii Edition for it.
I was having this problem with my 360 controller both my wired and wireless. It seems like the upper-right/left doesnt respond well. Im not sure if this is just the game or the 360 controller. Dont have another to test with.
Like, it sometimes stops me moving if Im trying to move forward and left/right.
I did this before the Wii Edition was released. There are plenty of people playing the PC version, but it's practically unplayable with the default keyboard controls. I thought I'd offer them some relief. My follow-up "Wiidux" script works even better than this and feels surprisingly similar to the official Wii Edition.
Thanks. Read my weekly column, Revolutionary, at Nintendo Wii Fanboy, where I'll be showing some of the other interesting things people are doing with their Wiis and Wiimotes, and giving some pointers to get started in writing GlovePIE scripts.
From here on, automatic comments for this video will be disabled. Hopefully, this will get people to read the video description or watch the details of the video before reflexively moving to call "fake."
i believe it is fake. The buttons are definitely from PS2 version and Wii responds to every movement you make from your remote. when your aiming, alot of times i saw ur hand move however Leon did not.
Download the GlovePIE script and try it for yourself. This version of the script isn't as responsive as the updated one demonstrated in my IR Wiidux video.
I"m so glad that I got the pc version patched to 1.1 with mouseaim 2.0 installed. The crappy 3rd party port really makes the game more challenging. Holding the house for a steady shot without zig zagging the aim is intense. Also the graphics with the patch look so amazing they definetly did a great job!
The button graphics were replaced with a fan-made PS2 button pack. I didn't even realize it until commentors started pointing it out. My latest video shows the game with the default button graphics, but I've also got the official patch installed for better graphics, and I'm using an updated GlovePIE script for improved aiming accuracy. Watch my Wiidux video!
Do you even ask what's fake about!? My god! Did you ever saw a RE4 Wii Edition Trailer, well first of all the new game does not have a laser sight ok! It's a single crosshair and the action buttons that sup up on the screen are eventualy, an A or a B or another not buttons from a Playstation, so please, this is a horrible vid!!!
yea, i think it's fake well enless you can change the option of cursor or laser sight which i dont belive you can do, but that still doesnt explain the X
The PC version of the game has a laser sight and custom button graphics can be added on. This is the PC version as stated in the description and the video's intro. Nowhere do I say this is the Wii version or it is played on a Wii.
Yeah. The mouse mod is fine for use with a mouse, but it's terrible to use with the Wiimote. The mouse mod essentially does what my latest script (with PPJoy) does. It makes the game think you're using a joystick, when you're actually using another input device. The Wiimote works better without the "mouse mod middleman."
I never claimed this was the Wii version. It's the PC version played with a Wii Remote using a Bluetooth adapter and a custom GlovePIE script. Most of that is stated in the description to the right of the video.
I somehow installed a "button pack" without realizing it. There are fan-made graphics for different controllers that can be installed to the game. There's even Xbox 360 buttons and keyboard key graphics available. Watch my latest video to see the game with better graphics (through the official patch), the default button graphics, and an updated version of my GlovePIE script that uses the Wiimote's IR sensor.
Check out my latest video! With an updated script, my aiming accuracy was greatly improved. I was able to shoot things that are barely visible on the screen.
There's plenty of reason. Not everyone can afford (or find) a Wii, but controllers aren't so hard to find. And there's a lot of people that have been disappointed in the PC port mainly because of the controls. This makes the PC port somewhat palatable.
It's the PC version. Played on a PC. With a Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Connected via Bluetooth. Interfacing through GlovePIE. Using a custom script I wrote. The script is available for download at my site.
get this fucking bullshit out of here you are not using the wii mote to aim they are not having that until the wii versioncomes out you faker. at least you sould of made it look real. even if you say this is real it looks fake as fuck mainly because i dont like people manipulating the wii
yeah resident evil 4 for the wii doenst even look like that it all ways shows an aim curser even when ur not aiming it makes it like this so you can aim easyer
I installed (but am not using) the mouse aim mod, which automatically flips on controller support. For some reason, I think controller support changes the icons from button numbers to PS2 buttons. All I know is that it's a poorly thought out and executed port.
That's weird. Well I'm using the gamepad and I'm getting the numbers. Also doesn't the MouseAim consist only of .dll and .exe and there's no actual installation, if you're not loading it up it shouldn't have any effect. I was just wondering because I want to get the PS symbols in my game myself.
To tell you the truth, I don't know why it's showing the PS2 buttons. I remember it showing the button numbers when I first started playing, and at some point it switched over to PS2 buttons. I assumed it was because of the Mouse Aim mode enabling joypad mod (which remains in effect, even when not using the Mouse Aim loader).

I am using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk here. In my "Wiidux" video, I'm also using the Sensor Bar for more accurate aiming.

can we play using mouse?coz i maybe buying it and i wanna use with mouse. i dun wanna regret it u know...

It is. That's why I added IR support, which you can see in my Wiidux video. Works much better that way.
