  • I thank you too, Colin. I know it wasn't as easy as some may think from you pictures, but I know it was worth the journey. Enjoy being the man you are.

  • Beautifull video and life , thanks for posting it !

  • 1:08 Lasalle? Are you from Quebec?

  • The video is great and how about we do not have to label ourselves and just be...labels are for food and clothing and other things not people! =)

  • just like me

  • So lucky

He got to become who he really was inside <3

I wish I could do the same c:

  • I don't know if Im a boy or a girl. My outside is a girl. but my insides are..unsure.

  • i can see in my time the views on gender will get a major overhaul and will inclued those that are inbetween "male and "female"

  • It's surprising how many girls make hot guys. Colleen was certainly a better Colin.

  • Omg She Turned Into A Sexy Ass Man!

  • @ccmadder I totaly agree he's HOT, husband is hot too

  • I have to say this is very moving story that I'm happy to have seen. About hormones women have hormone issues MONTHLY and it does affect our moods and emotions. I also understand that steroids in body builders can cause behavioral issues such as violence. I have to really cheer 4 those brave enough 2 go through everything that I take for granted daily. I support you. Thank you again

  • you look so masculine ¡¡ handsome boy ¡

  • What a great video! His transition looks great, especially the picture of him on the bed ;)

  • awesome! It's so nice that he found the path to who he really IS. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been getting there.

  • It's only confusing if you've got limited ideas about love and desire based on your own experience and what you were taught. If it confuses you, the answer is simple: you enter into male/female dyads to find your love and bliss. Some find their love and bliss in different ways. That's reality. You don't have to understand. Just because the public rhetoric says otherwise doesn't mean such people haven't always existed. Why can't we just leave it at LOVE?

  • @transcolin i understand that girl was a real man and also got man strength and mustles

atleast its better than gay or lesbian

  • The whole point IS exactly that - Confusing. If you think you're confused just following this - imagine if you were living it.

  • how does someone who originally came out as a lesbian all of a sudden get married to a gay man?

  • Some people are attracted to whatever sex they are. So originally they might call themselves a lesbian, but then get a sex change and find they are no longer attracted to women.

  • so youre saying the hormone treatment can change mentally their sexual preference as well as their physical development. Didn't know this or was she bisexual?

  • I didn't say anything about hormone treatment. I said, "Some people are attracted to whatever sex they are." Didn't say anything about hormone treatment. As far as being bisexual this person said they were a lesbian NOT bisexual. He's dating a guy now so obviously he is not a lesbian anymore.

Not everything has a label and can be so easily defined.

  • thats what I meant when you stated " As far as being bisexual this person said they were a lesbian NOT bisexual. He's dating a guy now so obviously he is not a lesbian anymore". What Im wanting to find out is how this transition to being a lesbian and attracted to females suddenly changes preference to liking gay men. i was wondering what causes this and whether the hormone treatment with the gender physical changes also changes their state of mind in terms of their sexual preference.

  • either it was the hormone treatment or she was bisexual or it maybe something else. Im just intrigued by this.

  • If you ask a lot of lesbians they will say they do like to watch two men together. I think these people might just be so gay no matter what sex they are they will be gay. I'm a lesbian, but if I was a man I wouldn't do anything with a girl. Straight couples just look odd.

  • lol look who's talking...

  • This doesn't always happen, but I think in some cases it is because of the way hormones affect the mind as well as the body. Of course, you have to remember that cisgender people can and do change their gender preferences throughout their lives as well. :)

  • no hormones don't affect the mind.......thas a lie foreal cas i bin on them for a year and my mind has always bin the same =)

  • Not necessarily in all cases, but there are cases where pre-transition people like, for instance, women, and post-transition they like men. :)

  • o well i always liked men lol

  • An excellent national resource for trans youth and their families is TransYouth Family Allies.

  • <3 Really good video. Thank you.

  • he looks sweet

  • Wow.. You are so meant to be a man.. daammnn you are Hottttt!! *drools a little*

  • iiWas Touched by dt vid

  • awesome vid.

  • I love you Colin!

  • I love you, too, L!

And thanks to everyone else for the recent comments. Sorry I don't have time to elaborate!

  • I got such goosebumps. Beautiful.

  • i like the song

  • LMAO. You look pretty angry to have those hair clips at :34. :P

Anyway, I've always wondered, do MTF's fustrate you? No offence, but a lot of times when I see a FTM, it makes me angry that they are wasting what I see as a happy life. If I was a girl, I would hold on and never let it go.

Anyway... Why did I write so much? o-o It makes me feel good I suppose.

  • Hey, I know what you mean. As an FTM I feel a bit angered by MTFs sometimes, just because I don't understand why they would want to be girls. But at the same time, I don't want to feel angry like that, because I know what they're going through as transpeople. And then I'll read about or watch videos of MTFs and sort of feel like they're my kin, in a weird way.

I guess that means we'd appreciate those body-switcher machines like the ones in cartoons, lol.

  • Yeah, I guess. :P

Oh well. I suppose I want to be female because I just feel that that's right for me?

No, I lie, it's for the shoe shopping. :P JK

We may be different genders but I guess we understand eatch other perfectly, eh? :)

  • And here I thought all boys hated being boys!

I can't find really much good about it... *sigh* I guess I'll never understand boys...

What DO you guys see in it? :S

Anyway, I guess that makes me an authentic MTF instead of another boy who would rather be a girl... I was worried about that... :P

  • I just got done crying and going through suicidal urges, so I'm not as full of my feminine spark as usual, But usually I feel female pretty strongly. :-/

Most of the time I don't really feel like I'm living my life, and I hate the way my voice sounds and my body feels. And looking in the mirror FREAKS ME THE FUCK OUT, I'm not kidding you.

I hope someday life will continue as it is supposed to, I'm glad to see you are doing well. Stay strong and happy. :)

  • 3:12

    O RLY? :P

    Tell me about it...

I'm in the stage where I'm hopelessly confused and miserable...

I'm a MTF transgendered individual... Sometimes I wonder how people could live such wonderful lives, it doesn't seem possible that they were born girls. For some wierd reason, I sometimes feel like it's natural to be miserable.

This must be painful for you to listen to... It's not really fair how this stuff works out. :-/

  • Hi, Heartwood. I hear sadness, confusion, disappointment, frustration, anger...and HOPE in your comments. I remember experiencing similar emotions around gender identity myself, and I wish you the best as you go through your process.

  • Oh, well, thank you, Colin. :)

I'm never one to give up so easily! ;)

  • This is actually very touching;

Personally i'm only a young teen and at the moment classify myself as straight, but i could never understand about people not being comfortable with their gender until i watched this.

Thanks for a great vid :]

  • Hey, all! Thanks for the positive comments and showing appreciation. And I'll take the compliments about my handsomeness, too!

thewalking: I like your answer! That's my answer, too. Best wishes as your struggle unfolds.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this. Your story is inspiring, and you are lucky to have so much support. (And yeah, you are super handsome!) I'm currently struggling with my own gender and I am also doing research in anthropology on gender variant populations... So this was a great find. Oh, and to your question in the video's title... No. :)

  • Lovely vid. It's a shame there isn't this kind of support for other issues, like gays, lesbians, and even furries.

  • thank you

  • What a great video and how brave of you to post pictures from when you were physically a girl. You have a wonderful family. You are a very handsome and great man =)

  • Loved your Video! Very well done.

  • You look awesome. I never would have guessed you were born a girl.

  • ughhh at times like these i wish i was white real cuz i mom has still not accepted mi in no kind of way saying that its not gods way

  • Hey ty. Sorry to hear that your mom doesn't accept you as you are. We all come from the same creator or place, and we can only be "god's" way; if there's a god, he/she/it loves us as we are. Only by being ourselves can we be happy and offer our gifts to the world. What's your gift? You have to find it, if you don't know. We all do. Trust yourself. Sometimes we just have to get out of our parents' house and become adults before we can find love and acceptance by building our own communities.

  • an excellent video that I will use to show trans and non-trans kids for educational purposes... thanks!

  • Awesome! We love that. Thanks to you!

  • awesome video, colin! I know what you're going through. It's really harsh to transition. My family is supportive too, and even though thats good, it is still very hard to know that you're a boy and feel like nobody understands.

  • Yep, I now know that I'm not alone in this. And the point of this video is to let more know so that kids have an easier time. Glad your family is supportive! Let's hope that keeps spreading.

  • I also thought this was wonderful! I showed it as an intro to a short presentation on trans youth issues at an agency I intern at in CA. I showed it as a portrait of hope. It was VERY well received!!!

  • Thank you for letting us know that you used it for educational purposes to a wider non-trans audience. Excellent! That is EXACTLY what we intended.

  • Wonderful!! Story! and Portrayal of it!! Bravo! And what a cutie! Transpeople are amazing!

  • Hey, thanks!

  • oh my god your cutee.......

  • Thanks so much for sharing this! :-)

  • Beautiful!

Your step by step only comes to a perfectly logical conclusion.

    And you got your wife!

    HAve a wonderful life.

    THanks for sharing with us.

  • Thank you for commenting. The response has been so positive. We hope that more people see it, especially trans youth and those trying to educate health professionals.

  • Amazing story, its mine in reverse, Im so glad that you have found love & had the surpport from your family.

    Cheers

    Belinda

  • Blue October are such a great band, I love this song so much.

  • YAY! Beautiful! I am so proud of both of you. Thank you for finding a way to make people understand this more. We love you both.

  • thank you deeply for posting this video!

I cannot express what it really means to me,

    to view it.

  • Thanks for the positive feedback! We're so glad that you found it inspiring.

  • What is this song you have here?

    It is beautiful.

  • Hey there,

The song is "Into the Ocean" by Blue October from their 2006 album Foiled. It is a fantastic song for this theme, and my wife was able to synch it with the pictures quite well. It's a song that touched me the first time I heard it, so she used it. Awesome, huh?!

    Take care!

    Colin

  • very cool! a good reminder that gender is just a chromosome away :)

  • Awesome, C4. Thanks for the comment.
