I thank you too, Colin. I know it wasn't as easy as some may think from you pictures, but I know it was worth the journey. Enjoy being the man you are.
I have to say this is very moving story that I'm happy to have seen. About hormones women have hormone issues MONTHLY and it does affect our moods and emotions. I also understand that steroids in body builders can cause behavioral issues such as violence. I have to really cheer 4 those brave enough 2 go through everything that I take for granted daily. I support you. Thank you again

well at least it was still woman with a man...even tho the man is gay...ugh...so fucking confusing cant it just be man and woman and leave it at that..
It's only confusing if you've got limited ideas about love and desire based on your own experience and what you were taught. If it confuses you, the answer is simple: you enter into male/female dyads to find your love and bliss. Some find their love and bliss in different ways. That's reality. You don't have to understand. Just because the public rhetoric says otherwise doesn't mean such people haven't always existed. Why can't we just leave it at LOVE?
Some people are attracted to whatever sex they are. So originally they might call themselves a lesbian, but then get a sex change and find they are no longer attracted to women.
so youre saying the hormone treatment can change mentally their sexual preference as well as their physical development. Didn't know this or was she bisexual?
I didn't say anything about hormone treatment. I said, "Some people are attracted to whatever sex they are." Didn't say anything about hormone treatment. As far as being bisexual this person said they were a lesbian NOT bisexual. He's dating a guy now so obviously he is not a lesbian anymore.
Not everything has a label and can be so easily defined.
thats what I meant when you stated " As far as being bisexual this person said they were a lesbian NOT bisexual. He's dating a guy now so obviously he is not a lesbian anymore". What Im wanting to find out is how this transition to being a lesbian and attracted to females suddenly changes preference to liking gay men. i was wondering what causes this and whether the hormone treatment with the gender physical changes also changes their state of mind in terms of their sexual preference.
If you ask a lot of lesbians they will say they do like to watch two men together. I think these people might just be so gay no matter what sex they are they will be gay. I'm a lesbian, but if I was a man I wouldn't do anything with a girl. Straight couples just look odd.
This doesn't always happen, but I think in some cases it is because of the way hormones affect the mind as well as the body. Of course, you have to remember that cisgender people can and do change their gender preferences throughout their lives as well. :)
LMAO. You look pretty angry to have those hair clips at :34. :P
Anyway, I've always wondered, do MTF's fustrate you? No offence, but a lot of times when I see a FTM, it makes me angry that they are wasting what I see as a happy life. If I was a girl, I would hold on and never let it go.
Anyway... Why did I write so much? o-o It makes me feel good I suppose.
Hey, I know what you mean. As an FTM I feel a bit angered by MTFs sometimes, just because I don't understand why they would want to be girls. But at the same time, I don't want to feel angry like that, because I know what they're going through as transpeople. And then I'll read about or watch videos of MTFs and sort of feel like they're my kin, in a weird way.
I guess that means we'd appreciate those body-switcher machines like the ones in cartoons, lol.
I just got done crying and going through suicidal urges, so I'm not as full of my feminine spark as usual, But usually I feel female pretty strongly. :-/
Most of the time I don't really feel like I'm living my life, and I hate the way my voice sounds and my body feels. And looking in the mirror FREAKS ME THE FUCK OUT, I'm not kidding you.
I hope someday life will continue as it is supposed to, I'm glad to see you are doing well. Stay strong and happy. :)
I'm in the stage where I'm hopelessly confused and miserable...
I'm a MTF transgendered individual... Sometimes I wonder how people could live such wonderful lives, it doesn't seem possible that they were born girls. For some wierd reason, I sometimes feel like it's natural to be miserable.
This must be painful for you to listen to... It's not really fair how this stuff works out. :-/
Hi, Heartwood. I hear sadness, confusion, disappointment, frustration, anger...and HOPE in your comments. I remember experiencing similar emotions around gender identity myself, and I wish you the best as you go through your process.
Personally i'm only a young teen and at the moment classify myself as straight, but i could never understand about people not being comfortable with their gender until i watched this.
Thanks a lot for posting this. Your story is inspiring, and you are lucky to have so much support. (And yeah, you are super handsome!) I'm currently struggling with my own gender and I am also doing research in anthropology on gender variant populations... So this was a great find. Oh, and to your question in the video's title... No. :)
What a great video and how brave of you to post pictures from when you were physically a girl. You have a wonderful family. You are a very handsome and great man =)
Hey ty. Sorry to hear that your mom doesn't accept you as you are. We all come from the same creator or place, and we can only be "god's" way; if there's a god, he/she/it loves us as we are. Only by being ourselves can we be happy and offer our gifts to the world. What's your gift? You have to find it, if you don't know. We all do. Trust yourself. Sometimes we just have to get out of our parents' house and become adults before we can find love and acceptance by building our own communities.
awesome video, colin! I know what you're going through. It's really harsh to transition. My family is supportive too, and even though thats good, it is still very hard to know that you're a boy and feel like nobody understands.
Yep, I now know that I'm not alone in this. And the point of this video is to let more know so that kids have an easier time. Glad your family is supportive! Let's hope that keeps spreading.
I also thought this was wonderful! I showed it as an intro to a short presentation on trans youth issues at an agency I intern at in CA. I showed it as a portrait of hope. It was VERY well received!!!
Thank you for commenting. The response has been so positive. We hope that more people see it, especially trans youth and those trying to educate health professionals.
The song is "Into the Ocean" by Blue October from their 2006 album Foiled. It is a fantastic song for this theme, and my wife was able to synch it with the pictures quite well. It's a song that touched me the first time I heard it, so she used it. Awesome, huh?!
