It is commercial whaling - everyone knows this. You do not NEED to kill whales in order to obtain the data that is needed for researching sustainable whale hunting, which is the reason they say that the science is going on.
Even though there is the whaling dispute, it won't stop Japan and Australia being friends. (^_^) 私はハッピーです。
