My great grandmother's family had 7 children. Only she and one sister survived (2/9) because they left before the Holocaust. The saddest story I know is that my great grandmothers oldest sister had a new born baby and the Gestapo threw it off a bridge. When she tried to jump off after the baby they shot her too. In WWII, nobody was the good guy really. America, we dropped atomic bombs on Japan killing/injuring a large majority of the population. As well as civilian targeted bombing campaigns throughout Europe. Britain, and Russia had their counts of bad ideas and what not. I'm not saying the Nazi's were good, they were all just soldiers doing their job just like every other fucking soldier.

The Americans with their bombings of Tokyo, where even more people were killed than in Hiroshima, and the RAF bombings of Dresden and Hamburg. But Germany and the USSR just tops it. And executing jews for being jewish or mass murder in general are not "soldiers doing their job[s]".

He fed them 2200 calories a day when they needed 3000. 600,000 or more died. It was an act of genocide, it is well documented in a book titled- Other Losses. a US Army Colonel helped write it.

However, on the contrary they built extensive infrastructure, power plants and the list goes on. Only a couple of thousand norwegian lives were lost for this "war". In addition, the germans protected us against Soviet aggression, and a terrible regime, so all in all the germans werent bad at all.
