@chrisman714368 I don't think it's rigged; I think that it's heavily influenced by "special interests". If you haven't seen "Casino Jack" then I recommend you watch it. It's a good anecdotal example of what psychologists have found: psychopathic behavior is rewarded in big corps and the gov. Therefore, the logical course of action is to change the institutional structure of gov and corps. We should democratize both. That way we won't suffer due to "a couple of bad apples".

Republicans have controlled MI's legislature on and off over the years. Most of the presidents over the past 40 years have been republican. It is inaccurate to place all the blame on democrats. besides, why would a city that is mostly black have a republican mayor anyway?

There are other significant factors attributed to social dysfunction as illustrated in the race riots circa 1967.
