  • where's part II???

  • Well done. I'm anxious to see part II! Val is fabulous.

  • That was freaking awesome

  • omg that ws realy good

  • Nice Val. Great work!

  • I liked the angle work...W

  • Oh shi! VHS haven't seen that in a while. Lol

  • I used to be able to watch this on my iPod touch on the Youtube app... no longer. It just says 'This video could not be played'. I wonder why.

But really, really great job on this. I'm definitely looking forward to episode 2. :]

  • well Val. i loved it..

i would like to see more....

  • only just relised that's Val ice vid and concept..

  • o_o It' Val! She's so pretty.

  • pretty

  • I like the concept of this short. I was however a bit drawn away by the over use of DOF.( some of which had nothing to do with the story) and some of the continuity was a bit off, like it would be impossible for here to hold the HV20 in one hand by the lcd screen and use the other hand to hold a phone.(Maybe put on speaker phone next time?) At the end of the video you broke the 180 rule with out crossing the back of her head which is un-natural and makes the view focus on the ANGLE change.

  • Other then that it was a wonderful production. Most tubers make junk you made a master piece. PS what 35mm adapter you using?

  • Nice work, and captivating. Interesting splashes of red paint on the camcorder, and views from it at times looking like it has red filter. The red paint drop also added a nice new multi-dimension. Looking forward to the second episode.

  • Im so excited for Episode 2!

  • Well good.

  • creepy but she smiles

  • Nicely done. It freaks me out a bit but so does stepping in dog kaka

  • Beautiful film :) What kind of submission is it?

  • I can't believe Javier Bardem agreed to do this.

  • Crazy-Awesome! =D

  • an then she died

  • Wow! Stuff like this just doesn't come along often. Fabulous!

  • I think this might just be the most wierd and awesome video I've seen on here.

  • it's all about you as always.

  • amazing work, so simple, so beautiful, even suspenseful! AMAZING!

  • THATS VALSARTDIARY!!!

    god she's amazing :)

    i love her artwork

  • Oops. Forgot to rate it.

    Ten thumbs up.

  • Very enjoyable. I wouldn't change a thing.

  • Very cool and dramatic!

Can't wait to see part 2.

  • OMG this is FKN amazing! Your cinematics are beautiful. Nicely done!

  • MIKMA WAS HERE

  • Is the red paint foreshadowing? Is she going to die? Or is she going to kill him? Ahh I really want a wide shot too. But I watched your other video and I'm excited you have a jib, they're very cool. Best of luck with the shorts. I also itch for a wide shot :) just one. please. also this is creepy like 'Enduring Love'

  • all the close ups really make me itch for a wide shot. I guess it's a style. Just not a style I enjoy. Cool story though.

  • Wow.

Did anything like this really happened?

    Crazy.

Good story, great idea, excellent execution.

  • Cool! I will use this method to pick up chicks!

  • I'm scared! Don't go.

  • It is very intriguing. Nice work.

  • this is amazing

  • i would NEVER go out to that guy, frikin stalker much...

  • paint rules, objects are fools

  • A classic suspense story, with abstract overtones, of course. :)

  • I love it, Val.

  • Woah... I got the link to this from Val's Art Diary channel... just wanted to say these odd characters sucked me in with curiosity, and I can't wait to see where this story is going...

    Nice job! :D

  • intersting!. interesting camera work as well!

  • what.... are ya freakin nuts!!!

    don't go out there

  • hmmm....creepy guy...stay away from him

  • what

  • kind of reminds me of amelie

  • uhm, good

  • really great

  • Wow! That was really something else! Captivating. Excellent work!

  • I really liked this!!! Keep em comin!

  • Great film and the shots are well done, good luck!

  • well done. love the shooting.

    please check out my video

  • You shot this great. I was watching it while listening to this album, ras g and the afrikan space program. It went with it.

  • Oh man, what a phenominal film- I can only begin to imagine they layered meaning...

  • kinda creepy but i love it!!

  • hey! That's just like my life!

Well, except my life's paint would be a dull mauve dripping upon a beeper...or maybe a gray spot on a Clapper that turns on the lights...or faded primer on a duct taped walkman!

GOOD JOB Val and wierd person!

  • Valentina! Oh wow. I love a good love story. Especially when it makes me fall in love with the characters I feel I already know in a way.

  • Excellent work! I really enjoyed every aspect of your film.

  • really good... creative and unconventional! ^_^

  • Creative!

  • That was really good.

  • i got shiver that dute is actually more horrible than his voice is... anyways nice little composition, i am waiting for more so that doesn't end up to red-ink horror and open-ends :P Val is relly cool!

  • Voylor, my apologies...I was so wrapped up in what was taking place with, Val, that I completely forgot to mention what a really dynamic job you did on this clip. Keep up the truly great work.

  • haha, no worries.. she deserves every bit of praise... :)

  • Val...what a great clip. Will you show us how this turns out or are you going to leave us wondering what happens to the young girl who decides to finally venture outside the safety of her personal confines? Love how you used the spilling of the red paint to show perhaps something ominous about to take place. Excellent work, Val. What other talents have you kept hidden from us? See you on Sunday.

  • Fascinating. The fear of living versus the fear of death. Hadn't thought about it before, but Val's comfort before the cameras is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. Val's performance here evokes echoes of similar emotions to Hepburn's performance in Wait Until Dark.

The collaboration here is notably inspired. There's definitely more gas in this engine.

  • Thanks so much! I really appreciate your comments... and I agree. I think Val did great.

  • any word if you made it?

  • Great composition close ups were cool.

Check out my submission Closet Party. It's very different haha and watch it in HD.

  • That man is creepy.

If she is such a private person who doesnt go outside of her privacy,

This man is a stalker with Black cloths on ready to kill.

Id say The red paint symbolized blood,

    was a sign from God.

She didnt even take her phone incase of emergency. That was intense.

  • The red paint on the phone is a good premination for what could be to come. A shut in painter afraid of rhte world,(by the locks on the door) secretly wanting someone, something, and the very odd man who is shopping her into different places, and who knows about the dog she used to have, I am thinking that the dog died, and the man knows how..... OK ill stop my wantering mind. Good opening, I want more!

  • I love the video.. So Much Great Suspence!

5 Starrs!!! Wanted to give you 5,000

  • wwoww :p

  • XD love it!!

  • Cool! Thank you!

  • Nice video, well done

  • Thanks so much! I'm really happy you like it.

  • great job val!!!

  • she did great indeed :)

  • very good, i liked it alot, leaves one thinking, will there be a continue? excellent quality and sound. Keep up the good work. Val seems so natural when working with cameras..

  • Thank you. I really appreciate your comments. We might do another one. Val seems very open to the idea.

  • claro claro! this was something else... i don't know if it was love or "hate" but she sure desired taking a walk...

    EXCELLENCE!

  • Thank you!

  • a dream ? a fantasy ?

  • That was cool! Good job Val!

  • Thanks. I think she did great.

  • anything that beautiful val makes or is a participant of, I truly love and will give 110%...keep up the great work cookie princess...'' EAT YOUR COOKIES ''

  • omg...much suspense val....this is freaky and cool!

  • I really like the part with the spilling paint, gives it an eerie feel.

  • I'm so glad you think it worked out. I was wondering if the red was a bit much :)

  • Fantastic work! Good luck.

  • Thank you so much! Really glad you liked it.

  • Interesting. Strange but interesting.

  • holy sht. my fone started ringing literally the SECOND hers did. scaryyy.

  • oh wow... that must have been creepy :)

  • somebodysawatchin you... and sometimes love flows thru the phone like paint on a canvas. or so i've been told. enjoyable.

  • Very good work, great use of camera angles and effective use of closeups. Overall, I give it five stars.

  • Thank you so much! This really means a lot.

  • lol a VHS player !!! i wish i had one of them =)

  • Haha! I know. I haven't used one in a long time myself. The "tracking" message in particular cracks me up. :) For the contest I had to use a red phone and 2 additional props from a list of 20. I picked headphones and a VHS tape. :)

  • ha! well that was one of the props you have to have - a VHS tape :P

  • Hi Val...I like you and anything you do..you got my support 100%.

  • awhh... thanks so much!

greetings from a cold cold ice place!

  • How long did it take you? I noticed the guys accent appeared Russian, since Val spoke very little, someone unfamiliar with her may think her accent is Russian, though she doesn't look Russian, I'm sure Russia has immigrants as well. If you move to a country as a child it's easy to pick up the language and the accent. So was this placed in Russia? I mean, I'm sure you shot it at your home, but I wonder if it was intended that the audience feel the setting be in Russia.

  • Interesting, not bad. I've worked on the set of short films before, even short films take a long time, though this didn't have a lot of acting, and I assume both the people shown in this have some experience, so I imagine it wasn't too tedious, maybe a 1 day project. I think the paint on the phone may have taken a few shots and the video camera recording the guy holding the computer may have as well, and of course the inevitable accidents which cause an otherwise great scene to need to be redone

  • I want to see the sequel.

This was very well done voylor! Well planned and executed. It definitely leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Val, you did a great job as well! I hope that wasn't your phone.

  • Haha! We actually did use her phone... I know. How horrible of me. :P It was an old phone though... but still... anyways, thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it and yeah, she really did great.

  • hey J, glad you liked it! Maybe we'll do a sequel...

  • Omg that was creepy and then it was adorable I love what a great short film, its got a great message too, amazing job.

  • Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  • I LOVE YOU VAL

  • Well done. You raise existential undercurrents to our visible and visceral spectrum. spooky.

  • thank you. I'm really glad you enjoyed it

  • I just know the guys is a nut!! Dont GOOOoooooooo0000ooooooooOOOOooOoo! Ok, I used way to many ooooooooos for that.

  • haha... definitely too many

  • This is well done. I think most girls would be totally freaked out if a stranger did this, but I sense that there was a lot of symbolism and that this girl may even have an evil agenda herself. He was right about her that she uses red a lot and it is a "violent" color. Could you explain it a little more -- I'm curious.

  • Thank you. I know the film poses some questions.. I'll try to write a bit more about the intentions in the vid description...

  • val, don't you know never to go walking with a stranger without your cell phone? Something could happen... !

  • haha! that would be crazy indeed

  • Good luck with the contest. Loved the red paint on the phone. Very clever.

  • thanks so much!

  • Val are you a fan of Casablanca? Very great movie...

  • very clever. each shot is well thought out. dramatic stuff.

how about paintings to go with it?

  • thank you. I appreciate that.

  • That was awesome. Val, you did great.

  • Thanks. She did great indeed.

  • strange and stranger

  • haha, sure is stranger

  • it's a riddle, isn't it? :)

  • i guess it is....

  • he's even psyco than me... LOL

Nice vid. I'm jealous, he knows Val.

  • haha, yes I know her.

  • Val!!

    Val = awesome!!

  • yes she is! :)

  • This is YT Project Direct? Red phone, headphones, VHS and amazing artist requirement right? ;)

  • I love this vid, the use of closeups was fantastic. The story is terrific.

Such a beautiful lady as well. :)

  • awwh... I am so happy you like it!

I think he did a great job!
