And anyways, the context of the battle really wasn´t to kill God, he is not the douche judeo-christian one of the smts, here he is more portrayed as the origin and endless being he is. The battle was actually a test to see if mankind was worth saving (as the reason he was screwing earth is because for the first time he felt direct sadness from Sera while in a experiment to communicate with god, and its a very spoilerific scene).

@swordmaster009 no the Demi Fiend is from Nocturne...he has an ALMIGHTY attack that is veri deadly...I've seen some videos take 30-45 minutes to defeat him...some are insanly lucky and do it in 5-15 minutes...but his Pixie has ALOT of MP! you get an Atma ring when you load your clear data to the second game...as far I know you can start DDS 2 with 2 Atma rings...so you don't have to do it but I WANNA!

What a great theme. You know, it might sound strange but when I fight the battle, somehow it sounds like the music is coming from Brahman itself.

I am specially mentioning the melody from 1:06 to 1:17.

Why I think it comes from Brahman? Well, in my opinion somehow its faces resembles a Carillon mechanism, with these strange gears and all the rest.

Also, when you defeat it, you can heard a sound like a broken Carillon!

@snowleswinter In fact, he hasn't worked for Squeenix since 2004. He has his own company called Smile Please, and in 2006 made his own music production company (Dog Ear Records). So he has no real reason to go back, unless he wants to/they offer good money. He only did one song in ff12, and was offered ff13 but declined since he was also given ff14. So technically, he is still writing ff music.

Because that's the only music from FF12 that I found intriguing. @snowleswinter I agree, there are a lot of oldy-but-goodies. However, there have been official modernized versions that while they certainly sound excellent REALLY expose any weaknesses in them (I concede that some of them have improved on the originals and some sound just as good).

However, I still think that some more recent ones are better. I'm not saying they all are, or that old ones are bad.

And yes, it was the main theme. Incidentally, a friend of mine liked the non-Uematsu ones more.

Like all rpg, battles seem the same (imo) because i may be short sighted but the only diff in SMT to me is the press turn icon i will agree that they are much more difficult though. music to me is an opinion i prefer orchestral/punk so ff wins me easy though i did enjoy SMT battle themes nocturne really pissed me off when they wasted the amala network battle theme. I guess my need to escape reality while playing games is why I like FF more it has almost nothing to do with reality (imo).

Square Enix should learn from Atlus on how to make better games. It's not the in-game graphic that decides the value of a game. It's the gameplay, story, characters and music of an rpg that decide it's value.

And SMT characters are much more dazzling anyway, even with a smaller sum of money invested in their games' graphics.

I really dont think square has anything to learn from atlus if they wanted to make a game like smt they would. You want all companies to make the same type of games dont be so short sighted try to be more flexible.smt designs almost made me miss these awesome games but i still decided to give em a shot i dont like em more than ff but they are still great rpg's. lol and using ff great graphics is a low blow the gameplay, story and music are no less enjoyable than smt

I disagree, I would say they are. The music is much more generic, and the storylines lack the depth that SMT has and the philosophical weight contained within (instead replacing it with contrived mundanity); you are not the character in question but rather a nameless viewer in the grand scheme of things.

The gameplay itself was never quite as deep as SMT, imo.

In fact, all FF really is is an overglorified model, devoid of the depth that brings SMT (notably Nocturne) and Xenosaga above it.

Yes, but at the same time consider the plotline that SMT has delivered over and over. In almost every game, the focus of the story itself has barely changed; demons, end of the world scenarios, and of course a "goddess" female character (sera, yuko takou, that girl from devil summoner) of whom the game orbits around. FF has been switching up for XII, going on XIII numbered games now, not counting all the spinoffs. It will always hold a higher place in my heart because of that. Commence -1's.
