Good. I am glad to hear this. This business South Korea was giving north Korea was simply charity. I just don't get how they think this will "hurt" or upset the South. It is like meeting up with a long lost brother of yours who is a drug addict and criminal and helping him out by doing housework so he has more time to find a job and he "punishes" you by telling you that you will no longer have the honour of cleaning his house. Good riddence. We need to stop supporting the north and end this.
Even though I’m a social-capitalist, I have to admit that communism is really good on paper. However when practiced, it’s usually a recipe for disaster. Just take the DPRK. They’re a perfect example on how not to run a socialist state. Even the name is wrong, let’s check it out shall we?
Democratic: North Korea is anything BUT democratic. It’s run by one dictator. Which certainly does not qualify as democratic. By the way, what democracy uses propaganda to brainwash the ‘’people’’ the leader is supposed to ‘’love.’’

damn! do you guys believe they will attack south? I mean they did nuclear tests, artilery, air, all kind of exercises, exited peace treaty, moved 70% of its troops closer to the border, and closed down this factory. Would really suck cuz i live here with my parents working on US Army Garrison
That's what everybody says. The problem is that North Korea doesn't care much about Kaesong - the last 20 years have shown that it's economy (and government) can stand against everything. And surviving politically and economically in the face of the most severe natural disasters and pressure from the entire world is something that everybody should aknowledge, even if one does not like the way North Korea manages to do it.
Easy - they got a command economy. It's main advantage is that it can survive even a massive nuclear attack. It's not like a market economy, where everything is based on search and offering of commodites, in a command economy the government says what to produce. The government says "Don't produce vehicles, produce missiles" - and it's done. Everything is planned for months ahead, and that's how they manage to keep up...they simply arent influenced by the global economy.
@mypetridish -------i just dont get how they manage to keep up.. they are living of donations from China are they not? ----------> :) DPRK invested HEAVILY in industry. They are quite industrialized just GROSSLY under utilized 'cos USSR collapsed and CHina ONLY does cash and carry biz today. But ALL or MOST industry there is controlled by the military esp heavy industry. So the military has DIRECT ASS to MEANS OF PRODUCTION. So u don't have markets going boker bankrupts...
@mypetridish ------>So when there is shitholistani recession times, and sanction times, and China goes 4 cash and carry pre-requisite also Russia, the heavy industry can just direct projects like building undergound tunnels, artillery shells, or what not. This FUCKS food prices up but the thing is industry survives so there is no anarchy and regime change lik thing only hard times that pass. In other Asian country that is as sanctioned to the BRIM this hard would fall like a deck of cards.

People’s Republic: Pretty much same as above, but I will say that it is run by law. Even if it is a corrupt and totalitarian law.

Basically, N. Korea is economically killing itself. Only the people get suffered, while leaders never have to worry about the food shortage.
