Yes, we keep all of the firware up to date in all our equipment. The brass contacts were not going bad on us (though I do clean them every couple of weeks just as maintainence) just that one side of the reciever did not like the new batteries with slightly shorter posts. We shipped it off to Hayes and they fixed us right up. No more problems.
For those of you that do not know Hayes Instrument out of TN is awesome. They have the absolute BEST GPS support team EVER. Those guys know just about everything you could hope for them to know.
Have you updated the Power Board firmware? Also the brass contacts on the small board that the batteries connect with constantly were going bad.
