@sbrave I don' know. Wolf is a better technical player than MA could ever hope to be. and Wolf's only twenty. His background vocals are pretty good too. But whatever, this was the band in it's prime, when they were at their best.
@Ttrixter49 Probably right about Wolf being a more technical player, but those vox were a crucial part of the band. Notice they don't exist on the new CD ; )
I remember when rock ruled. I was 14 when this came out. I saw VH in 82. I saw a lot of bands in the 80s. I collected Circus and Hit Parader magazines. I played air guitar in my poster-plastered bedroom. It was a blast. I don't know what 14 year old boys are doing today. Playing "Angry Birds" on their smartphones and listening to Nickelback?
@gdwme I was fourteen some odd 4-5 years ago. I was playing guitar for about 3-4 years then, didn't give a fuck about school and I rock'd day and night. If I wasn't starting car alarms with my amplifier I was playing the acoustic fer da ladies with the acoustic plugged into the amplifier and the amplifier starting car alarms. awsome days, I use to draw crowds. now I'm stuck inside doing homework. strange how things change isn't it?
@bermripper after mark tremonti went and visited them in the studio they said that there stuff that he heard sounded like this, good old classic old van halen ;D
What jumpy young gazelles they were here. I forgot they used to be like this. I mean David was wearing robes by 1981. They had virility and were flaunting it. This is the Van Halen I loved.
Love Van Halen, love DLR, but I gotta say Dave sounds pretty crappy here. He must have been coked out of his mind; he's all out of breath the whole time.
LOL...nice try...it was actually Jim Dandy who ripped of DLR...Jim Dandy is older, but he was just trying to stay relevant when he rocked the 'Ready as Hell' era in 1984. Check out the older Black Oak Arkansas..you'll understand...
@Transnewton I'm trying to prove you right...Do you know where I can find a video of Jim Dandy swinging a sword, doing karate kicks and the splits prior to 1979? Been looking for a video like you said to do but can't find one. Please post the link
@Transnewton dude look up van halen the early years interview jim dandy sits down and states that dlr never took nothing from him he had his own thing going on word to the wise learn your facts before you troll
it is a terrible misjudgment by VH that they were not filmed professionaly in their prime. This is really what the fans want.

AC/DC have plenty of videos on sale, Led Zeppelin have, Kiss, Ozzy... even Nirvana.
What about Van Halen? Sounds like they do not know how to manage their stuff.

DLR is not original: GO look up Youtube JimDandy. Not even this song (Dance the night away) was written by the Van Boys.
THis Jim Dandy song is sang live by this Playboy Unchained moving redneck that wrote Lee ROths destiny(With Style and movement)
DAV (through the years) was so HORNY TO make something happen that many were so HORNY To believe it~!
Transnewton 1 year ago
@Transnewton I thought they got the title from the Cream tune of the same name. Knowing how much Eddie was a fan of Cream, that seems to make sense.

@traxx19rw No, (Im not gonna get all ugly on the Internet) but Jim Dandy came first. His Black Oak Arkansas stuff was before DLR.
