@gfmgma I noticed that too. But this isn't the first time complicated double/triple/multiple crossing has been used before in plenty of movies, This is parodying those films. Furthermore, Dan Harmon is a huge fan of Arrested Development and more importantly Joe and Anthony Russo were the primary directors of most of the episodes in both Arrested Development and Community. So it was probably those two's idea.
