How did that team not win the RWC at some stage? So many great players. As an aussie and a fan of attacking rugby I've gotta say that I hate losing to the likes of Porter, Mehrtens, Wilkinson et al. but I could never complain about getting carved up by old Carlos. Just a class above.

Spencer's vision for a score is still phenomenal. Sadly the game moved on and required a lot focus on defence now. Back in 2003, people called England boring but if we look back by today's standard, the RWC final had everything that rugby was about. That's far the game has moved.

Carters got the same kicking accuracy as Merhtens, and he has alot of Carlos's attacking magic, he doesn't take a risks that Carlos did but overall hes a more complete first five than both, just a sign of the times growing professionalism and such

when super rugby started carlos was unreal..but basically an ABs team..jonah joeli vindiri eroni clarke lee stensness junior tonuu..possibly best ever super rugby team...better than the crusaders...and in 2003 b4 the WC carlos was in great form...NZ has had some great #10s...but ive never seen someone with as much allround talent as Daniel Carter...speed kick step vision pass defense ...hes pretty tough too...but thats 1 area of carter i would attack if i were an opponent...his toughness...

gidday tommy...i was raised in auckland for 25yrs...spenser on his day was outstanding...if he was at his peak he was better than andrew merhtens...he was a magician...flick passes..no look passes..chip kicks off the knees...no one in the world had better skills in that position..id say he was the most skillful #10 of all time on his day...but..overall for the last 10yrs carter larkam better... merts was more consistant and a good kicker...wilkinson kicked and ran behind a strong forward pack
