  • Why am I still watching this...!!!

  • if it was online pool vs them... i would still lose lol

  • Man those were the days. They played 6 games in less than 10 minutes :)

  • They make it look so easy to run out. Earl was and still is a great player in my book. McCready is a great player as well.

  • they shoot so recklessly fast and without care.. i duno i wouldn't be comfortable playing that high a pace against this high a competition but i guess it's w/e suits your style..

  • It's like a nightmare, isn't it?

  • @LMDAVE29 what do you mean?

  • I heard a funny story about how McCready was kicked outta' school. He had some money on him and he was in gym class. He didn't want to keep it on him and he didn't want to put it in his locker lest it got ripped off. He asked his gym teacher to hold it for him and he asked,"Sure, how much is it?" "$12,000..." Keith never went back.

  • I think it was 14,000 lol! He didn't want to leave it at home either because his brothers would probably steal it!

  • Pool needs characters like Keith McCready. Today the pros are robots, subjected to a more homogenized scene. It' s not that they are bad players, its just that they do lack what McCready had. Micro brews, coed leagues, tofu sandwiches and 20$/hr table time?

  • Keith has to be the most classic definition of a pool player I've ever seen. After the Color of Money, I was convinced he was going to have steady acting gigs.

  • He is right, I just wanted to talk some smack for his rude comment. And Mcreedy does move like Mick Jagger!

  • As far as his movements go, he was wired to the MAX in those days on coke. I played him some sets at Raytown Recreation, in Raytown, Mo. I basically just gave him my money, but it was an awesome expirence!!

  • Ya, he don't know shit about pool, but movin like Mick, thats how alot of players walk around a table...Thats how I walk around a table..I think its cause your always walking around a pool table without trying to walk right into the fucker, so you kinda have this crab walk limp thing goin...Thats how you can tell how long someones been around a table...Pros today not so much because they 'approach' and analize, purists just walk around and play their game.

  • @fergamis That or the fact you're just a drunken hillbilly huslin' pool.

  • This table is a piece of shit. Just look where the 1ball hits the cushion and still goes in. (first rack)

  • with the right angle and proper touch that shot is easily makeable on any table - hasn't got anything to do with the quality of the table.

  • Oh yeah, Earl should be pissed that Mcreedy is racking badly. Notice that the 9 ball NEVER moves for Earl on his break due to Mcreedy's bad racking. But when Mcreedy breaks, the 9 ball DOES move because Earl racks correctly!

  • dude u must really not know that much about pool because a perfect rack is when a nine ball doesn't move, thats why in big tournaments they use the sardo rack for example.

  • No sir, you watch too much tv! A CRAPPY rack is where balls don't move. Do you even PLAY pool??? Go to the pool hall and try it yourself.

  • Gregm2010 pointed out that only the nine ball stayed still while the rest of the balls moved, which is a sign of a good tight rack.

  • No bright lights. No fancy cameras following players around table. No commercials. No annoying and usually wrong commentary and shot predictions. No constant in your face advertising for cues or table cleaner. No recruiting by billiard and pool clubs or leagues...............and most of all................NO MOUTH FROM THE PEARL. Stick to what you do best and "Just Shoot Man".

  • I'm totally with you here, would love to see more pool like this, no BS. Also, I can't believe Earl had the same gut back then that he still carries around!!!

  • The gut shows he's still in the same shape! LOL!!

  • Loving it too, this is the pool that gets ya hooked, this is the pool I loved to play, dark pool rooms where you can smoke and a silent competative intensity fills the air as money quietly exchanges hands. =D

  • Not just you but I'd never have thought of it till you pointed it out! He's also quite waif-like in this match. Beefed up a bit since then.

A lot of fun to watch him play.

  • These classic videos are a real good learning tool! Check out the allen hopkins vs mike sigel video, thats good too!

  • Whats the deal with 6:25? Why did he get a free shot to put the ball on the rail for the jump?

  • he did a puch shot and McCready didnt want to take the Stricklands push so McCready gave the shot back to Strickland

  • To clear it a bit, after the break you are allowed to do a push shot and once that's done your opponent decides if he want to continue from there or not. In the case in this video Strickland did the break and there was nothing open and the cue ball was too close to the ball next to it to make a jump shot so he made a push shot. McCready could've continued there but since it wasn't that good spot he decided to let Stricklands continue from there. I hope this helped a bit

  • Keeps getting worse and worse...the impossible dream- to beat strickland. haha

  • Take it all , i can't help it .

  • Yep , Keither with the ether " put many players to sleep with his side-arm stroke - great especially for the cash . These two played many times with the Pearl getting the best of most sessions .

  • Its like a nightmare isnt it!

  • hahahaha great stuff man!!
