  • When he said "I'm gonna teach you no inch punch" , Bruce Lee's like: "Hey!! WTF is happening out there??!")))

  • Do i always have to sink if i touch my oponent to deliver this shock? I replayed some parts of the video but i cant see Jin dropping o.0 am i blind? :D

  • @Kurosuki00008 The sinking is very subtle. It's partially because Jin doesn't follow up by stepping into the person, so the range is pretty low. But you must feel your body momentum go down in order to get the power for this. A lot of the "drop" can be nullified by the resistance of the other person's body. But you must still drop in order to transfer power.

  • I respect this craft

  • @Spr4wl Yes you're right, I've been doing wing chun for over 10 years, but I also do wrestling and boxing. The wrestling is essential if you're trying to do MMA or just sparring with other people, not to mention on the street, good to see open minded smart people out there.

  • So basically iv been doin wing chun for about 2years. About 4months ago I was chain punchin on my mates arm as a joke (not tensing my fists as much). Then I felt a HUGE sudden pain on my 'tendons'? (On the back of my hand, the long bone beneath the pinky knuckle). Since today it hasn't cured and HURTS real bad if I thro a wing chun punch. Really regret goofing around. Miss wing chun like hell. Any tips? Help? Or anyonehave same prob? :s ..peace ppl

  • @sHaRkz187 It's not your tendons. It's your metacarple (the bone). What you have is most likely a boxer's fracture, which is what you get when you punch with the lower two knuckles. Get a doctor to check it out, you can most likely get it fixed. Remember, make contact w/the middle finger knuckle before you "set the grenade".

  • your voice resembles of Phil Collins

  • I`ve been observing this through my WingChun class, when someone is dropping(sinking) he`s compromising the wrist structure, by compromising the wrist the pressure on the shoulder make`s him lean back, especially when he is working with someone heavier ... any hints on this ?

  • I'ma practice this on the bag.

  • Your lessons are so complete. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us.

  • everybody Wing Chun tonight.

  • i learn new stuff thanks

  • Love ur videos they teach alot I'm twice a bettr fighter as I was

  • Good points, close to what we do in Bak Mei,Float,Sink,Swallow and Spit.Great stuff.

I use those Bak Mei concepts in my WT.I think it's a WT concept also, not many WT people teach this

  • omg, I never thought about this little part of the form. Thx alot for bringing this concept up, now my inch power feels right. : ) Forms are like big treasure boxes, its gonna take forever to find and notice all the good stuff...

  • you know it's funny how often my buddy will praise Bruce Lee and JKD for all these super "new" concepts and I'm usually able to point to these videos and say "He got it from Wing Chun." Mind you, I'm a huge fan of Bruce and have been since I was very little but credit to where credit is due.

  • *important* regardless of how well you understand something yourself, never smoke weed before you try to explain it to others. You will lose track of your own thoughts and may end up looking stupid or uneducated to the ones you are speaking to.

  • Jin i have a question to ask u, is Wing Chun practitioner ready for ground attack? I mean like vs BJJ or Judo when u are lock on the ground

  • @haorengo After doing wing chun for a couple of years i went to a bjj gym to do some ground training and on my first nyt i tapped out 5 people in a row who had being doing bjj between 3months - 2 years, it helped because i was big but i tapped a guy out who was my size as well, wing chun helps you relaxed which makes you very heavy on top but i also think its essential for a wing chun fighter to learn some ground work for escapes and to get back to his feet

  • Your videos are awesome. Keep up the good work!!!!!

  • When that camera's off...he gonna fuck dat man!

  • @Raider120164 ahhahahahah

  • Is this gay porn?

  • @adamresyk2112

    lol.

  • he looks very powerful

  • I want to say just this: MAN YOU ARE A GOD

  • Very good Sifu, Thank you:)

  • Great vid once again.

  • 뭔가? 앞부분은. 잘라라

  • 원가 앞부분은 필요 없었지 싶다.

  • Jin, you're the best. Love and light.

  • TL;DR Sink when punching - it applies more pressure to your opponent.

  • hi Jin,

how does this relate to the "body wave" thing? It looks like a different move but I'm sure the two concepts kind of merge at some point.

Btw, it is hard to practice this without shifting the weight a little bit forward before the punch or just lean on the opponent.

    Thanks for the video!

  • Great video, thanks very much!

  • thank you for the video of course, I'm usually labeled as the technical guy, your really technical, I find it inspirational, with that kind of self-examining, technique developing skills I'm sure you got no problem learning BJJ or MMA. Thanx for mentioning the last part about Japan, much appreciated.

  • i will donate to the red cross just because you said. Very admirable of you. Much respect.

  • @locieboi i agree with your comment! Max respect to Jin for being an awesome human being!

  • can this be practiced with a punching bag?

  • CPR...FAIL!

  • interesting. so you're saying the use of shifting or 'yu ma' from chum kiu is no good?

  • Thank you soooo much. Its always good time to see your videos.

    谢谢

  • will u do a video on kicking and kick defense?

  • My response would be "I have no idea what just happened"

  • who would dislike this?

  • Totally awesome as always.

    Thanks so much

    silk

    ;-))

  • Perfect.

  • awesome!

  • Now is this just to make distance or can you actually do damage with something like this. Because in my practice of the one inch and three inch punches you can do considerable amount of damage with them if used properly. I had a hard time seeing the possibility with this. Unless the opponent has their back against the wall.

  • @TheTaoofJKD I don't think its an actual offensive technique. It's more of a way to make distance just like you said, but it can also hurt your opponent as well.

  • @papertiger7 I understood that more as I watched the video progress. You probably could do damage if you had the opponent pinned against a wall. Just like you can accidentally crack someones ribs while performing CPR.

  • @TheTaoofJKD good question, this is what Hawkins Cheung calls "setting the grenade", it is the final action of the strike or punch. i teach this way so that nobody gets hurt.

  • @chinaboxer Damn, Hawkins comes up with good analogies lol His WC knowledge is top notch.

  • @chinaboxer Oh and a good way to safely practice the one inch and thee inch punches is by putting a pair of focus mitts against your chest and having your partner punch into them. Its how we were taught to train it at my academy That way we can use power, and get used to the feeling without doing damage.

  • @chinaboxer Great video Jin!!! I study WC and your videos help me a lot! Best Wing Chun that I've ever seen! And this video helped me to understand one simple thing: THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHOOTING FROM 1" OR 10''. AND LIKEWISE NO MATTER WHAT DISTANCE OF PUNCHING YOU CHOOSE IF THE SPEED OF YOUR HAND BEFORE TOUCHING THE BODY IS HIGH ENOUGH AND AFTER TOUCHING THE BODY WILL STAY THE SAME. YOU'LL KNOCK YOUR OPPONENT OUT. GREAT VIDEO!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • @Grreg781 yes, you got it, i covered the exact subject in a different video, nice job!

  • Mike is getting molested by Jin lol

  • jut-ging ftw!

  • down, forward + A = Stun!

  • Damn your so awsome :)

  • i want an action pack video! XD

  • I enjoy looking to your vids so much, there is a lot of information.

  • very good vid jin. thanks again

  • your hands are lightning!

  • Thanks for the tip! Gonna try it when I train again! :D

  • Nice explanation but how do practices it with out a partner......Can It be done alone like on a heavy bag? I've seen this guy Grandmaster Ivan Soto do this same palm strike except his students drop like flies lol.

  • *important* dont do cpr on a living person!! the heart's rhythm can be disrupted.

  • @darkroiii Doing CPR correctly involves breaking their ribs, he wasn't applying nearly enough force to disrupt his heart's rhythm.

  • @darkroiii I'm a tech I was thinking the same thing.

  • @darkroiii *important* dont do cpr on a dead person!! the deceased's relatives can be offended.

  • @BigDickandLittleJon ahahahaha, very true!

  • @BigDickandLittleJon uhhh you only do cpr on a dead person

  • @rupin Oh really? I thought it was for living people who experience cardiac arrest, but have not yet undergone brain death. My bad. When you use it on a dead person, do the decaying flesh and putrid smell bother you???

  • @BigDickandLittleJon Sorry. By dead I meant someone who is VSA. I don't think that is a correct definition of being totally "DEAD" That's what I meant though, no pulse no respiration dead, I guess it's just a caveman way of saying VSA for me :P.

  • @rupin No worries. I was just being overly pedantic for the humor value. I know what you meant. Didn't mean to be a prick.

  • @BigDickandLittleJon Haha, that's cool :) Cheers man!

  • @darkroiii So what, do you just let them die?

  • @FizzySoap like bootshark said, not to someone who doesnt need it.

  • @darkroiii

I think you mean don't give CPR to a conscious person.

  • @darkroiii what about music with heavy beats ? Just wondering

  • great video, helps a lot, thanks

  • Can you punch like this? (not with a wawe, but with a drop?)

  • Does this technique have a name ?

  • @kodokudeusotsuki My instructor calls it "the falling tree technique".

  • @kodokudeusotsuki Hawkins Cheung calls this action "Setting The Grenade"

  • Nice video! Everytime I see your videos I want to start practise wing chun :-) Unfortunately it seems that the wing chun community is here in a conflict :-(. Keep up the great work!

  • I really enjoy your videos. I wish I lived in the area, I'd really like to take whatever class you teach.

  • Man..I wonder what games they play when the camers isn't on...
