if you know how to play and you know how to play!!!! then the different betwen those 2 pickups is specialy for somebody who is not PRO hard to judge!!!! lot of people be probably can't say without this video which pickups are active Emg..i was always want to emg active pickups but after i hears play few people on cheap guitar i was decide that main skill is have good fingers
Nice comparison. They run pretty much the same. That proves not just the pickups contribute to a great tone.Picking technique, pick, amp settings, body wood, strings(new strings always rock..and feedback,FTW),position of the pickup next to the strings.I personally like the bridge pickup as closer as possible..has a lot of sustain, gives a lot more punch on crunchy riffs.I know it kinda overdrives easily on clean ch,but you can turn the guitar volume just a bit lower and its clean,or switch on neck XD
This vid is very helpful. Thank you for uploading. Honestly, I can't hear the difference of those two pickups. If I were to get between those two, I would definitely get CVR. Why get a expensive pickups?!
@TheYostinator hello, in my case it was great curiosity + marketing. Now i can say old CVR pickups didn't really limited me. For my skills and ears were more than good. So if you don't feel really limited by current pickups, upgrade is just not worth. Especially in this guitar you need to split and extend original EMG cables (finding replacement for 22 awg battery cable was problematic, emg could add some cables to the box), and making neck passive pickup work in this configuration is tricky.

You need to do the noise test. Palm the strings then raise your arm. Other than that they sound a lot alike.

the EMGs sound smoother to me, and for some of the riffs I actually prefer the sound of passive pickups... thanks for the comparison dude!

So what is your opinion? Is it worth the upgrade? I only ask because while videos are good, the best way to tell is hearing in person.
