The commercial is a metaphor. The commercial explains how the gaming experience turns to life, I'll go into detail. The doll was fake when the lights were off but when the lights turned on the doll was able to glance at the console, thus turning it into life. The doll wasn't really looking at the console but the capabilities that games had to offer. It gives you a hint when the game was playing through the eyes of the doll.
