@onlypitbulls I als don't agree with killing all pitbulls but many are bred on their abilities to be agressive especially those who are used for dogfighting. It's all the fault of the poeple who own animals and don't take responsibility by abusing them, not castrating the dogs so they can't have puppies or throwing them on the street. Personally I prefer Mercy For Animals as the best organisation, they also uncovered a lot of abuse, also in mass-industry and testing labs.

@onlypitbulls I know they killed a lot of animals while they could have found homes for at least some of them or given them to other shelters. In most shelters approx 80% of animals are euthanised because no one wants them. Only 'no kill'shelters keep them but they haven't any place for other animals too. I also don't agree with their harsh approach in some subjects but the fact remains they did expose some terrible cruelty towards animals, like in China

@onlypitbulls like I said I don't agree with everything about Peta but don't forget that other shelters also euthanise animals because there are simply too many of them to give them all a good home. Fact is that peta spend lots and lots of money to undercover operations otherwise we would have never known about Chinese skinning animals alive for their fur or other animalcruelty The risk with pittbulls is that agression is bred in by stupid people who want a fighting dog.

@canecorso: You know full well that what animals do in the wild is different from domesticated animals and that includes dogs. Dog fighters force these dogs by torture into fighting, use the timid ones as bait dogs and torture and kill the poor performers. Pretty perverted, cowardly and sadistic behavior by dog fighters and people who watch it. Find another way to make money LEGALLY and quit victimizing these dogs and ruining their future as pets.

Is this fake? Since when did PETA care about helping fighting dogs? They've released numerous statements encouraging that all the Vick dogs be euthanized, perpetuating basless myths of pitbulls "snapping," they euthanize nearly all of the dogs given up their shelther, and publicly admit that they believe all pitbulls should be automatically destroyed upon entering into a shelter.

No dog is born bad, people MAKE them bad. Dog fighting disgusts me to no end. I admit, I was once terrified of pit bulls, but then I actually got to KNOW one, and she had to have been the sweetest creature I know. I know better now, and I'm glad I met that dog, because she got me to think about how little I actually knew. Long live the Pit Bull!

i do not always agree with peta but at least they try. not every organisation/political party/person is 100% perfect nor does peta. but they did expose some true animalcruelty.

I think that the way PETA goes about getting attention (such as naked people in cages, and comparing slaughter houses to the holocaust) go too far and seem to just be going for shock value. Then PETAs message is cheapened, and makes people who do want animal abuse to stop seem as radical as PETA can be. Thats why a lot of people dislike PETA.

Amen to that. Do keep in mind that after a dog has been trained and used to fight, they are rarely able to adjust to family life. The problem is in the cruel treatment before during and after the fighting, if they survive..Remember, ANY dog with teeth and without manners is dangerous.
