Las Vegas in 95 was my last show. I was always tripping and having a great time to spend time judging each show. They were all great and special to me. I will always remember them.
Mary Lockman..... you were gettin' bored???? By what?? The Boys got better and better up to Brent's demise. This 89-90 year gap, was some of the finest shit they did, post 85.I thank GOD everyday I saw each and every show from summer tour 88 til the end. Yes, things came and went post Brent. They tried.....
oh finally I find Jerry doing a good job in the later years. I jumped on in 72 and off in 88 was getting really bored by 88 but the music shows it was the boys that were fading. Here Jerry is showing a comeback. Oh Jerry you promised to not fade away
PERFECT. Everybody focused and ON. All knowing they are doing something profound and special. Moments like these are what the GD LIVED for. Scary thing is, then the moment is gone. On to the next song. God I love the Grateful Dead.
bill is the man. haha wish bill and mickey and phil and bob would get together. on talk shows back in the day, they all seemed so happy to be friends and to play together. Why don't they? they fed into each other so much and laughed a lot.
Love Them though. I bet jerry is standing on the moon looking down at us, happy that his fans still keep the family together.
@MrJdspecial1 Totally agree about Billy. Love him here. You can see he is focused and his full heart is in it. He knows they are in the midst of a profound performance of a profound song, and he gives it his heart and soul. Love me some Billy Kreutzman.
I come back to watch this from time to time....Jerry's intro with the sustaining chord solo, the vibrato, the delicate touch, absolutely beautiful. God I miss him.
this was the last time I saw brent and this is the really crazy part we were walking in the stadium and a Limo pulled up with a license plate on the front that said U kno me and out walked Jerry and Brent, CRAZY CARDINAL SHOW Brent hit a note and held it as the FULL moon rose over the stadium Magical truely magical
I am not sure if it was my life changed at this moment or if this moment changed my life however this show was in my hometown and I drove back to see this 5 hours and when I got there I knew the person working the parking gate and I got the next 13 cars in line for free just because they asked how many and I said thirteen. ok this is the irony, I had picked up some bros hiching and they were with me when I did this and they then gave me thirteen red brl ,,,,.....mmmmm.............zzzzzzzouchiee
Luville. Deep south humid hot all day at the old Cardinal Stadium at State Fairgrounds. Jehovah's convention next door at Freedom Hall. Bad U of L football players working security and stealing people's stuff in the parking lot. Hornsby opened at about 5. Still about 92 or 3 when jerry came out in shorts. It doesn't get dark till about 9:30, so the boys KY jammed out of He's Gone into this pre-drums. Ended with Rat. Round, and Baby Blue. It's almost time for drums and still daylight. DST
There's a lot to say about this song and this performance, but I'll say that I love Bobby's rhythm fills throughout the entire song. It really makes it what it is. Bobby has a way of making his guitar sound like a keyboard.
@JAXMOSES - shorts like those are a throwback to the late 70s early 80s . Phil clearly didn't know any better and looks mighty dorkish - just so happy Jer never doned short shorts -
This was my first show. There were almost 2000 (yep, this isnt a typo) arrests this day, and the boys said they would never come back to Louisville, but they did finally, in 1993. I was hooked after this show, and almost skipped out on joining the Marines to go on tour. Instead, I joined, and followed them around the west coast over the next few years..:)
@skaterocknroll i think ive seen your comments on skatevids do you skateboard man.....if so u are my new hombre....!!!! even if you dont isnt this song just magnificent.
Bobby had athletic legs...Phil looks like he hatched from a pod, still love ya Phil.

@marfase6 What do you mean "held too far above the fans' children to be reached?"
I think you mean the fans put the band ahead of their own kids, but not quite sure.
