Civic driver has no confidence in the corners, brakes too much. Pretty evenly matched but the Honda will keep going round forever, the Renault would probably break!!!

what is the average speed with that clio RS on a fast track??? can you tell me please?

The top speed on the main straight is 220 km/h while the average speed is about 145 km/h.

Ciao, grazie per i complimenti, come assetto adesso monto quello della Clio Cup, ai tempi del video avevo su un artigianale a ghiera...il motore è originale, a parte una rimappa e lo scarico orbisound, anche il filtro è il suo.

confermo quanto detto da Kronoturbo...dovresti affinare un pò in alcuni punti le traiettorie per cercare di uscire più veloce dalle chicane e ritrovare la type r un giorno con meno traffico......certo che con la propria vettura non si rischia il botto per il gusto di passare un'altra auto.Comunque Monza non è una pista facile come potrebbe sembrare

good video. I own a type r and it's pretty clear that the 2 cars are fairly evenly matched..the clio has awesome handling and the civic has slightly more power.....on the track it's down to the driver tho, and both clio and civic are capable of keeping up with much higher powered cars....

When you get your heads from up your bottoms take a look, get on a track and give it a go, get about 12 of your mates and book a track there are lots of cars which also handle pretty well, the key with the clio is power to weight.

it really is a great little car!

Oh.. Can you give a link to pictures of your clio ? Well yeah, the cup clio no doubt is a beast, but civic type-r has many versions too. And besides, do you know the guy who drove the type-r ? and do you know what mods exactly it has ? And, have you driven a type-r ? Its just that, the equally priced versions of clio and honda, honda>clio ... Atleast I think so..

The fact, that you say you could pass a type-r easily is just wierd.. My sisters husband owns a 2004 Type-r ..Ok so its rally moded.. heavier than original.. But on tarmac... it definetly smokes the clios.. He and friends test drived the new Clio 197 and the new civic, the clio isnt too good on picking up power from low rpms, and its not as sharp steering, and that electronic gas sucked ;P

Maybe the driver of the civic wasnt maxing out ;)

Most of the people that make comments didn't ever drive in a track and they speak because have read some tests on various newspaper...this isn't the new clio but the old 182 and also lightened of about 80 kg...put a racing suspension kit on a clio rs and than see how it goes...The Clio Cup has only 190 hp but turns in Monza in 2'11''....about 13 seconds faster than that tuned civic typeR.Think about that.

That civic TypeR isn't original and produces over 200 cv, it has racing suspension kit, semi-slick tyres, my clio has stock engine that produces 173 bhp and although this in the straight line we were very close indeed i had to let him go...so your "typeR" technology doesn't seem very effective....

Dispise it. That Civic was standard, you can tell.

You really pushed your car to it's limits, and at higher speeds on these straights. The Civic just pulled away.

Of course you're going to be biased, as you own this 172 that's meant to be a 182, but the Civic is faster, and it pulls away thanks to this video.

My car is a 182 and produces true 173 bhp tested on the bench, that civic insn't original you can see the backfiring sometimes in gear changing...it goes very fast, in fact the civic driver was surprised to see a clio that was catching his car.

UR too slow in turns, especially the end of the turns and the car in front of you is faster on line, but if you lear to enter turns faster (possible for sure) and choose a betetr line of driving you can smoke it, u did it well in 4 : 30 where is u end the turn faster than him and u start to win seconds on him. Maybe thats the cra that is not well configurated

Yes because i had racing braking pads and the guy in the honda didn't, so when i was braking i could pass him easly, about 30mt. of advantage when braking....
