it's not quite a "new series" but you could always check out dragon ball kai. its a digitally remade version of Dragon ball z. not sure it will help, but o well. i hope they make new stuff too.

Dragon Ball Kai is remasterd footage from DBZ, cut down to make the story move faster and closer to Akira Toriyama's original manga. A lot of filler has been cut like Goku falling down to hell and the Princess Snake part. There is some new animation, the opening and ending parts, and a couple of seconds of new animation in some episodes, but that's really about it. It's very enjoyable though, despite not really being "new".
