  • Nice video! But the internet stat is a bit off right now. Roughly 30% of world's population have internet access, not 3%.

  • but the truth is, if everyone was living in basic homes, living with clean water, we would need 2 and half earths

  • This is unreal...

  • FINLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

  • wow our world's pretty messed up after all....

  • The statistics in this are just mind blowing, it just makes no sense to me why as a global community we do so little. When in truth all that the developed world needs to do is help break the poverty cycle of so many developing nations and allow them to be self sufficient. Just that would change the statistics from this remarkably.

  • the people who disliked this video had no souls

  • awesome, yeah be very thankful indeed people..

  • WOW! A roof over your head, a bed, a closet, and a fridge and you richer than 75%!

  • inspirational music

  • iim sorry but how did this get 7 thumbs down? are you living in your own dream world such that u think that people living in poverty deserve thumbs down? you might not be able to help them...but at least show that u have some compassion

  • @lovinit53 they are souls are blinds.

  • real

  • thats sad :(

  • I would like to meet the 7 people who gave this a thumbs down. They are the sludge that collects on the bottom of a glass of muddy water after you let it sit for a while.

    priceless

  • wow.. perspective... thank you for posting

  • haha, only one oceania? dibs it being me(;

  • This is really enlightening. Thanks for making a video that makes the statistics easier to understand

  • hey, i dont rmb the last time seeing a village of only 100 ppl having 12 computers. must be a nice village lol

  • @rusp it's of all the people in the whole world reduced to 100 people, not just some village somewhere

  • What can we do so that ALL '100 people' can live with hope, dignity and prosperity?

We need to share the resources of the 'village' equally, then no one will live without. When we share, we create true justice, and when we have real justice, we will have lasting peace.

A simple solution, but our world leaders and representatives lack the will.

  • Oh no can't have that. That would be socialism/communism! Which everyone knows is evil! Capitalism is better and that can clearly be seen in the capitalist country the USA where 1% of the population owns most of the wealth (sarcasm)

  • if the world were a village id burn it down

  • @cody7111990 excuse me, but your living in it.

  • @sailormars153 well the excuse me while i go muster up an obscene amount of napalm...

  • @cody7111990

    monster

  • I feel so bad that I am living this life here in america and people are dying everywhere

  • i used to think that lots of ppl had the same amount of money as me but now i feel super special because i have a bed house fridge closet water way over 2.00 and lots of other things

  • I watched this video in class... i can't believe how fortunate I am...

  • I'm broke, but I have a fridge, a closet, a bed and live in a house.

But I am still poor as hell...............

  • hey.. dis video was presented 2 me 2day on April 18,2009 at UCSB in La Raza. Quinn showed us this video. This taught me that i am really fortunate. Thank You Quinn!

  • Wow this is beautiful. Ironic, inspirational, yet ultimately sad. Where will the human race go? Are we a people? Or individuals...

  • There is still hope. People in the richest countries of the world were living like the poorest are now 100 years ago. So, there is still hope to change the world.

  • i watched this in my collage anthropology class.

    very good

  • that really inspired me

i never knew the world was like that

nice song in the backround too

  • this video inspires me.

i sent it to many of my friends :)

i hope this video can make the world think about it

    like it made me think

thanks a lot for posting this video...

you've given a chance for this world to change :D

  • OMG!!! I saw this vid in my english class and I almost fanited...not litterally....but it's so scary what the world is like....only if we multiply! If this is our world....than we sure need to step up!....M.R...mr.duranD....go away

  • It makes me sad how many people are posting crap about being all talk and not actually helping; this isn't a "Donate to these people today!" videos. Its meant to put things in perspective. I saw this for the first time I think in 8th grade, in a school wide assembly. I honestly almost cried; I think a lot of people did. Its touching, and sad how much we DON'T know. And yeah, it makes you want to change the world.

    That's just my opinion.

  • i am very touched that you would make a video like this 2 help people understand what is going on in the world and hgow lucky we all are, course some idiots just don't have a heart, sad :(

  • what is that song

    P.S Nice video

  • It is written in the video description:

Music background: Mad World, performed by Michael Andrews (ft Gary Jules).

    Thank you

  • don't mind these selfish youtube members whoever you are i think this was very thoughtful of you to post this clip i know this video is to help us realize about the world around us! u are very mature to make this clip i must say all those dreadful comments i can't understand this world now

  • Nice motivational video but it's so riddled with errors it becomes pointless. Search snopes in google if you want to have a look at them.

  • the fact @ 0:42 is wrong.

    it would actually be

    woman: 52%

    men: 48&

  • yay, you your fact checking abilities just ended world hunger, i say young fellow, you must be very pleased with your accomplishment,

    moron

  • It really annoys me when Americans us we in a global messageboard. I'm not an American, and I'm glad to help those worse off than myself. My country isn't perfect, but if I wait for that, they'll never get any aid. But I agree, fix your own damn country first, before you help (invade) those 'morons'. That's help thatthey really don't need.

  • god ur dumb in a way

  • what movie`s theme song is this???

  • this was also a theme to the game gears of war which you probably saw a the movies

  • thank you so much for your reply.

I remember this song is mad world inserted DONNIE DARKO movie, not a theme song.

  • Well Done!

This video does not MAKE anyone feel anything. If you feel something you do, if you don't you don't.

I believe it is the producers hope that those who watch this may choose to feel grateful for all they have and some may even choose to give that little bit more next time their gut instinct say's "I can help out here."

The most important thing, above all else, is to love.

  • if you truly loved those who were duffering, you'd spend less time talking, spouting gibberish, and more helping them.

If you dont love those who are suffering i.e. third world countries, then you should be more specific in your opinion of whats truly important,

  • How true how true...

  • This video really makes you think... :( I never thought how much people would appreciate how much I have. Everyone who reads this has a computer in frount of them and most probably have a roof over their head. Why can't we do something to help... What we're doing is sitting at a computer writing things. Lets donate money to them for christmas! :D I know I will. Will you?

  • i am so touched at the way u care princess123500 i will donate :D my family is going to help donate hk$ 5000

  • I like the concept of the video it's a real simple way to realize how capable we are as Americans. Perhaps instead of upgrading to Flatscreens, rims and Ikea furniture we should consider traveling to share some of our knowledge and resources with others across this massive earth.

  • I can't stand this kind of message anymore,

okay i have a bank account and even a roof to sleep under. Okay i'm a part of the 30 healthiest people on a hundred.

but wait a second, am i responsible for the others who don't have it ?

Am i more responsible than the poeple who rule poor countries ?

Should we do something to help them having democracy or is this ingerance ?

These are the good questions, but stop trying to make people feel guilty for what they are not responsible of.

  • this video is about helping people like we are all one community. instead of saying "thats too bad" about the starving children, DO SOMETHING! It's supposed to be shocking. Obviously some people don't REALLY think about it so the message goes right past. But it doesn't matter. If it makes just one person help out then the world is a slightly better place than it was before.

  • You are absolutely right. These groups keep trying to make us donate money to poor countries, the money then gets used to buy food or some other source of aid which the government of that country, or military, etc. takes and uses for itself. Then we get guilted again for not donating enough. If they want change they need to make the poor do something about it. Giving a free handout doesn't solve any problems.

  • I agree, handouts only create an unhealthy dependence. However, that doesn't mean we are now free of any responsibility. Sure governments, more often than not, are the bad guys in these scenarios. But it is simply ignorant to think that we have the things we have because we're "better", "smarter", or "more worthy". People are victimized every day so we can enjoy the things we enjoy. Can you live with that?

  • I don't understand who "these groups" that you're referring to are. There are no groups asking for money in this video, nor does it refer you to any. The end of the video simply says appreciate what you have and try to make this world a better place. Is that really too much to ask?

  • it doesnt say it's your fault for all the poor people it's saying appreciate what you have

  • @luke02245 thansk not the intention of the video its so thatw e as people stand up and do something ... anything about it.

  • if u think more ikkkkky u wqill have a clearer mind of what 2 do. u definetly are not king to help them but don't u think u could donate money even US$1 could make a difference? ur at least better than the other losers that hav no hart!

  • this video tell me that the world is really not as good as we thought .. It still need help to make it a better place ..

  • this is crazy..reallly makes me thankfull for what i've got..life in a nutshell

  • Yes. This video contains some information about world's conditions in a form that we can easily understand....

  • o my god how sad is that we have to do something tnx to the person how had made that it was brilliant made. but, still it did give me a new way to think about how bad this world reallig is we have to came together and try to make the most of dis world
