  • VIEJO BORRACHO

  • Nick Cave, the only man who can make big collars, dorky suits and 70`s porno style mustaches cool!!

  • I fall in love with warren ellis each time I lay eyes and ears on him.

    grinderman no more, huh?

  • best version!!!

  • I like it: slow, soulful and bluesy, like from the beginning of progressive rock.

  • Where did they hire the beards from ?

    Mike

  • @MikeDavies621 ZZ Top

  • AGAIN!!!

  • It kinda sucks when I'm listening this song and at the same moment I see Guetta face / Masterpiece

  • thats real Music kids

  • Charles Manson on lead guitar

  • Lou Reed on Tambourine

  • @jd83 Seriously??

  • they should remove the dislike button for Nick Cave's songs

  • @domj07 That's because the recording, like so many these days, was mastered for overly compressed high volume, which has the negative byproduct effect of flattening out most of the vital dynamics. The process squeezes the life and excitement out of the music. It's an absurd practice really, but it has somehow become standard "good practice" for how the music industry thinks people will want to hear music.

I sold off my cd and I'm just going to download these better sounding live versions.

  • there are not words, amazing atmosphere and song

  • Amazing atmosphere in this Grinderman song!

  • smart guitar, you can streach your fingers wider.

  • I just love it!My father has been an astronaut for 32 years. He was 38.Way too soon.

  • I love that Warren Ellis plays a half sized guitar

  • Reminndes me of early Pink Folyd and the music from the late 60s,need to drop some acid.

    Love it.

  • wonderful song, wonderful video

  • Guitar solo of Warren Ellis just makes me cry

  • the stash is back

  • Warren Ellis manages to look terrifying even when he's playing a beautiful, heart touching solo...

  • You just can't beat this---I beseech anyone to show me a cooler video that was released this year--this is timelessness in action--so cool it's untouchable--I dare you--try...

  • This sounds of another time

  • only nick cave and his awe-inspiring talent to make the pimp handle-bar 'tache look good.

  • actually from an empirical standpoint, it's one hell of an electro-mando affair at the end,

  • Magnificient piano at the end whoch almost "that's what I did because I no longer want to annoy."

  • And Charlie Manson on guitar. With Stalin singing

  • wonderful

  • Warren Ellis on guitar! hell yeah!

  • wow this is mindblowing! Slow and intensive. Love it.

  • I'm in love with you OmegaGraham... I don't know why.. maybe cause hookers are in love with everyone.. I have read the "Saddam Hussein on drums" comment several times now, and have belly laughed every time... I am leaving now from Fort Worth, Texas to go see Grinderman in Memphis.. I will think of you OmegaGraham while I mentally stalk you from afar and stare at the man in the Memphis moon...

  • Pretty good but they were a bit sloppy at the end. Very haunting song.

  • It's called "Man on the Moon" on the first album, right?

  • @ogulkoker yeah.

  • 1st son of the encore, 3rd time I've posted it! Beautiful!

  • ¿qué hace juancho tocando la pandereta/maraca?

  • These guys are amazing, no acts that have been around 30 years like them actually get better with age. Most turn into a self parody of themselves or dissapear into their own selfindulgance. These guys are like 30 y.o. bottle of scoth whisky, will they ever peak?

  • Way more soul than the recording.

  • stunning, haunting - mellow and rich

  • fannu zoccu minchia ci pari...

  • Kangaroos loose in the top paddocks, Mr.Cave ! You continue to amaze and fandangle with your ivory tinklings!! And Mr.Ellis, are we jealous!?

  • Why oh why does Nick sound like a church organ player on this???

  • @averilleX I love the organ sound

  • @ralstong20 I like it too, wasn't a criticism...

  • Costa from Costa's Garden Oddysey could fit into this band as a sax player...he'd win the beard audition at least LOL

  • excelente version mucho mejor que la de estudio

  • masterpiece!

  • fuckin' awesome !!!

  • grinderman or nick cave in general? if it's the latter then i can't see any grounds for this comment at all and would invite you to point to a more accomplished song writer.

  • you don't have to be a brilliant vocalist in rock n roll it's more about feel and the words and music i first saw cave and the birthday party in 79 80 and they were a powerhouse and he's just gone on and on and written some of the most memorable songs ever it's not about worshipping it's more about ackknowledgment of this Antipodean

  • I'm forced to agree, but if Nina Simone sang it, then the moon would surrender its independence.

This could be the stuff I listened to in Blackrock Park during the Summer holidays in the early 70's.

  • @davidoffon I love this music, so what bands would be. Plz give me some inspiration :D

  • QUE ROLOOOONNN!!!!!

  • Jel to Gobac lupa sa onim šuškavim sranjem na kraju pjesme!? Haha

  • Great!!!!!!!!

  • ok so I can see some of Grinderman folk are the same as bad Seed folk & can't see where or how to draw the line, but in all honesty don't feel/think I need to it's all Nick Cave and that's just dandy with me, fab stuff but may need to purchase some Grinderman stuff, have nearly all Bad Seed input, love it all, thanku to Nick keep it coming anyway, shape or form! x

  • excelent version. Just love it. Especially the ending, in Grinderman Ellis work with his own samples is just inspiring. and refreshing

  • the most amazing mandolin solo of all time

  • Seconded

  • it's no mandolin, it's called a bouzouki

  • it be a mandocaster

  • this isn't a bouzouki. the bouzouki you here in "Abbatoir Blues" is a completely different thing. This is an electric mandolin from Fender called the mandocaster..

All that comin' from a greek guy that knows what a bouzouki is..

  • Indeed this is one of best nick cave songs. Very soulful and deep. And this live version is just great. I dont have words for it.

  • Nostradamus on guitar

  • rasputin brother, rasputin

  • Saddam Hussein on drums

  • God on the keyboards!

  • Indeed

  • lol after the spider hole

  • @OmegaGraham MY FATHER DIED THE NIGHT I SAW CAVE IN UTRECHT.

NOW HE IS AN ASTRONAUT TOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @OmegaGraham

What? Go on! Tell me your problems

  • @TheLordRudi:

he say, at 2:16 you can see osama bin laden.

  • @OmegaGraham And on Guitar too!

  • @OmegaGraham :)))))))))

  • This is perhaps one of the best songs of Nick Cave's long, prolific career.

  • awesome.. and epic...

wonderful music and very deep lyrics.!! Poetry at its best!!

dedicated to my father.. He also is an astronaut now..

    rip

  • awesome!!

  • superb <3

  • thankyou mute

  • glorious experimentation- clever to do it under a different name!

  • theyre in the fucking moment

  • zzzzzzzzzzz

  • I bet you listen to 'Scooter' in your spare time

  • WTF IS SCOOTER

  • this spookly so cool!

  • Awesome!

  • they sound great! like the sound of some time that has never ended but just was left under the dust and still shines a bit to those with eyes and years for it...makes me see an average day like a Tarantino film and everything is significant and colourfull, like the taste of an orange piece and the smell of summer rain approaching. matter.

  • holly shit. that's the words. that's the most smart words i've ever read on youtube. respect man.

  • @CrakShaft taratino is the man..this reminds me of led zeppelin of our genoration i fuckin love it

  • @CrakShaft yeah... let's resume it... for those who don't understand so much poetry: This song is cool

  • very good

  • Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have been a long time in the making and are fantastic and unique. The music through the years has been a fantastic journey for real fans

  • ♥

  • people used to think that, so they started sending musicians to beat them in a Music battle, some of the best musicians of our generation died there, usually when, in a desperate attempt to save some dignity their own bile choked them to death =D

  • (this was supposed to be a reply to oledapra's comment, but for reasons beyond my understanding it appears on top)

  • and who decides who's music is "better"?

  • in my case oledapra does, lutecore.

  • Grinderman!!... not... Franz Ferdinard...

  • They have soul

  • I loooove Nick Cave :3

  • Maar you are on sick fucker!!

  • Is this version of the song available for download anywhere?

  • Man then that in your moustache coffee. I like this band, and BlackAcid, who's Lee Marvin?

  • turn down the guitar!

  • That's actually a mandocaster.

    Not a guitar - it's a freaking awesome instrument.

  • freaking awesome and a little too hot in the mix....

  • music can't get better then nick cave!

  • Maar, what the fuck does 'mothafoka' mean? honestly you complain about'then' and you can't even swear properly WTF???

  • lol you're awsome xd

  • MaarTs8 är dum i huvudet jävla öst-statare som tror sej

  • That mustache wins. Oh yea, good song too i suppose...

  • nick, never ever die! far too great...

  • You all do realize that Nick Cave is a member of the SONS OF LEE MARVIN...

  • that's about five guys...or so..right?

  • I wasn't aware he was in it but it all makes sense. the unusually long face and all. other members: waits, jarmusch and lurie if im not mistaken correct?

  • whoa shit... it is! hahaha good eye me! hi-five i rule.

  • nick cave?

  • better not perfect, has a better vibe that way

  • In fact I've never seen such a hairy band. It's like what would have happened if the Wurzels got into dirty blues rock.

  • ... maybe ZZ Top?

  • The only thing bad about this is that Nick seems to have stolen Friedrich Nietzche's buzzer. Nick, leave the great man alone!

  • its just because hes losing his hair... i like nick with mustache, he looks really cool

  • I really like that. especially watching it, "beatles , work in progress" style VIDEO. cracking song

  • Nick te adoro!

  • the lead guitar you're referring to is not a guitar...

nick cave and the bad seeds are the best!

  • Most bands would kill for a take half as good as this.

  • thank you sooooooo much!

  • great song

  • It rocks.

  • SIC...

  • Good song, but the lead guitar is too loud

  • you're right

just a little better mixed and it would be perfect...

i think this is better than the album version

    even with the inadequate mixing.

    -Jack

  • I like this version more than studio version too
