  • @gunsNrosesfan97

Not albino. Albino's have red eyes, the White Raven has blue. The white coat is all natural. :)

  • Where can I find more info on white ravens?

  • Why must everyone claim fake on everything? Good grief, people, can't you accept that something is real for once?

  • There are only four of these in BC, right? It's so sad to see such a low number of beautiful birds.

  • is it a live white raven??

  • That is amazing you must send me the video for me to study i am self teaching my self things like zoology please send me it in an email email me on youtube first. then i will give you my email

  • DUDE I WOULD PAY SOOOO MUCH MONEY FOR ONE OF THEM BIRDS

  • Great video! And great choice of music, it really suits her. :-)

  • Very nice. Hungarians have a saying: "Rare as a white raven" (maybe other nations have it too, but it's the only one I know of). Makes sense. :)

  • That is so obviously a seagull.

    ;)

  • For everyone who sees this:

No, this is not a fake bird and it is not albino. The colors of their feathers are sometimes affected by a recessive gene that makes their feathers "translucent." This makes black colored birds, mostly ravens and crows it seems, appear to be diffferent shades of gray or ashy white. True albino ones are even more rare than translucent ones, and the albinos have pink eyes.

  • @Kaurumenia leucistic is the word I was looking for up there. Leucism makes their colors more translucent than normal, more diluted.

  • Wow......it's beautiful.......nice(^_^)

  • Bet Brian Blazer would love a pair of these.

  • After reading through some of the comments here, I just wanted to mention that not all albinos have red eyes as many believe. (I used to think that too). There are many types, subtypes, and degrees of albanism. Human albinos in fact most often have light blue eyes; very rarely the red/pink you see in albino rodents.

  • very beautful your lucky to getto see him in person!

  • love this sprit raven..not albino the eyes are black..beautiful..

  • sprit raven..very rare.the eyes are not red. so it is not albino..

  • Stunning :)

  • @QuietBuck Your videos are great! keep up the good work. Take care and have a great day.

  • That is amazing! Wish I found something that amazing!

  • Hi! You may wish to add some of QuietBuck's awesome WHITE birds & animals as video responses on this site.

  • OMG! You are so BLESSED John! This is absolutely AMAZING. There have been quite a few sightings of a variety of different species of pure white creatures / animals throughout the world fairly recently, & I believe that it's a sure sign of eventual PEACE on the way.

Thank you for sharing ~ plse. keep us posted on whether he/she's still a visiting friend.

My parents have a white visitor to their bird feeder as well, but aren't sure what breed it is. Shall ask them to take a pic.

  • This is officially the only actual white Raven video on YouTube (at the time of this comment posting). Tons of bands and people using white Raven as a name, none fo them the genuine artical though, lol. A few white naped Ravens, but damn...

    Thanks for uploading =)

  • An extraordinary beautiful bird. Thanks for posting. John Wantling, Rochdale, UK

  • He is just incredible!! You put together an awesome video with a beautiful subject and great music choice! You're blessed!

  • sooo beautiful,- and surely there are many fakers on YouTube ....but this is absolutly not a fake ! Thank you very much for showing - very nice vid, and music reminds me on talking heads, i am not sure about the music ?....but i am sure i like it ;-)

  • I can guarantee to you this is not fake.

  • Adorable =3

  • white raven was Odin's third pet... what the hell are you doing ???

  • Wtf? Are you talking about old Norse religion or something else completly random

  • ofc they can

  • He's actually right, true albino birds have not been documented, but they can be "leucistic"!

The difference is that this bird has shiny black eyes instead of pink ones. It is missing pigmentation OTHER than that from melanin, which defines a true albino.

It is very similar to albinism, and just as rare and beautiful! :) Personally, I think the normal eye colors just makes it even prettier.

  • Aw isn't he (she? :) ) beautiful! I hope you'll stay good friends always :)

  • omg ty ty ty ty

  • Ravens have larger bills, have vastly different calls (crows can only really make the typical CAW, and sometimes they cackle; ravens can make chirruping noises like at the beginning of this video among other calls).

  • this raven came from heaven \(▼o▼)/

  • U are very fortunate to see this bird for real.

  • Nice Bird n song.

  • wow.

    This is really nice.

I love how you actually got the bird to come near you.

  • A raven's curiosity normally outweights their skittishness. Also, the younger a raven is, the less fearful it is of other living beings.

  • wow

  • In greek mythology crows were white until I think apollo cursed them

  • very nice picture at 1:56

  • I'm amazed... at first I just thought it was an albino... but it's another species, isn't it?

  • This is an albino raven. There used to be a breed of white/grey ravens known as Pied Ravens (some of them had light red / pink markings) that lived on islands near Iceland, mostly Faroe. They're extinct now, though, due to hunting and the fact that the alleles for the color morph were recessive; if a Pied raven mated with a black raven, chances are most of the hatch would be black.

  • Pardon my previous post. Pied Ravens arent' EXTINCT, per se. The gene is still there somewhere, it's just incredibly recessive. Basically it's just a color morph of another kind of raven (the name of which I cannot remember).

  • Another reason is that some birds refuse to breed with albino/variations of their species, even if they are same species. Ravens might be an example of this, so the pied raven is rare.

  • Look at my site theres a vid about ne breed of white animals, and they not albino if don't have red eyes and noses. Its a brlliant vid from quiet buck x

  • Quick, call William James! And I LOVE this song. Awesome video.

  • He's got one big beak...

  • many animals have change there color, but this raven is amazing i tough that raven won't change there color..but it happen!!

  • Wow

  • a rare sight to see and find. I have seen a white raven once when I was a teen. rare for there to be white ravens and rare for them to survive into adulthood.

  • well isn't that ironic. they are meant to be black as night yet this one is as white as snow :/

  • Blagden

  • The most beatiful bird in the world... I love Ravens! As you can see on my name...

  • Nice - Talking Heads. Cool bird too.

  • Oh he is just beautiful!!

  • Well ravens are much larger then crows, and they sound a lot different.

  • I've never seen an albino raven before, nice, but "black is beautiful" :)

  • I've never seen an Albino raven either, This raven is in fact not albino at all, albino anythings have red eyes, this one has blue. This raven just has a mutant gene that has turned his coat white, just like the spirit bears of British Columbia which is weird because these ravens are from BC as well.

  • @chadschuler2000 whoa. O>O thats amazing.

  • i had no idea these even existed haha

  • You are so lucky to have seen one of these!

  • I bet you any thing that some one will shoot that beautiful bird. I know a lot of people shoot eagles even though it is a law not to

    that is sad. :*(

  • Wow you dont see that everyday. I read that ravens also can be brown but they are just as rare as the albinos.

  • He is beautiful! All white just like David Byrne's hair now!^~^

  • Very nice video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for this video! Occasionally I used to hear people talking about white ravens, but I always figured it was a joke or a myth. So I'm glad you were able to get footage of such a rare bird, and even befriend it! Lucky you!

  • Wow, how gorgeous!!!! I'm glad I know they really exist; one time I saw a huge group of them and thought I spotted a white one. I thought I was seeing things, lol. Is it common to see them just flying around outside like that?

  • It's not common but does happen. The parents of these birds have had 2 white ravens every batch for the last two years, and usually 3 black ones. I hope they do it again this year because they are are quite a sight.

  • Wow, quite amazing! Have you been able to continue to see the birds? I have wondered if the birds lose their white plumage when they become adults, since all the pictures of white ravens I've seen appear to be juveniles. It would be fascinating if they retained their light color and blue eyes into adulthood. :>

  • They will remain white with there blue eyes for as long as they live. I have seen them as of late but are much more cautious of people now. They are about 9 months old now and they are quite a sight!

  • Thanks for the info! I hope you can continue to observe them for some time. :>

  • cool video, lame music

  • at least in the winter he'll be more safe because he'll blend in lol

  • lol, yes very good camouflage.

  • I used to breed budgies, whenever I bred a pure white one without the red eyes, it was called a 'lutino'. Is that the same name you would give this girl?

  • im not really sure what you would call it, aside from a freak of nature haha.

  • Wow. Honestly, wow. I've never seen an albino raven before. Gorgeous.

  • funny thing is that it is not albino, it just has a mutant gene that has turned her coat white. A true albino has red eyes, this bird has blue eyes and it is quite the sight to see. Thank you for your comment.
