My "funny bone" in my left arm is more exposed than the one on the right. All It takes in my left arm is light pressure(I mean even the pressure from my pinkie finger causes excruciating pain). I was just vacuuming when I slammed my left funny bone into the door jam. This arm NEVER has the funny part, ONLY PAIN. It was shooting pain all the way down my hand to pinkie and ring finger. On the other hand my right funny bone is hilarious when I hit it!

Last time I hit it, I hit it so hard I lost my ability to hold anything in that hand for several seconds. I had a bruise there for a week. That was NOT funny!

theres nothin funny about getting hit in the funny bone, i accidentally hit mine on the wall july 5th on my left elbow and damaged the ulnar nerve and now needs ulnar entrapment surgery on it to fixed the compressed or damaged nerve cause my left hand is numb and loosing strength all because i hit the funny bone.. shit like that can happen, no jokes.

I just looked this up because I just hit my 'funny bone' again! And for me my eniter arm went numb and my finger tips stung :( Now its swollen I guess and even more exposed so if I bump it again its gonna hurt like hell.

Actually, that's not why we have an unprotected nerve right there. It's because there is no way to protect it without limiting the elbow's flexibility. It is worth more to have that flexibility than to protect the nerve, so that trait won out during our evolutionary past.
