  • Beautiful song by an outstanding performer.

  • hes awesom, and he still got it even now........

  • Gordon's in good voice here!! Nice posting!

  • what does he say before he starts singing Ribbon Of Darkness

  • This is at Massey Hall isn't it?

  • In the business..they say the less talent you have... the more you need to distract the audience. Most tours these days have 10 to 14 trucks of "STUFF" ......Gordon is a standard....... He has ONE truck. The pinnacle of entertainers. I love you Gordon!!!

  • fuck that. thats a complete insult to a 40 year veteran who defined music and inspired artists such as BOB DYLAN. He sounds nothing like those money grubbing. music destroying, disney fools called the jonas brothers.

  • biggiesmaus, I was replying to RandRdriver how the Jo bros bring in tons of distractions to their concerts. Just so you know.

  • okay buddy, just checkin :)

  • Saw him at the pines in noho last night. Killer show. I'm happy I got to see a living legend.

  • i like the style of his guitar. hes very different thts why i like it

  • Or just resort to swear words, bound to make you appear intelligent.. Then again, you could just chill out and listen to a great artist..

  • Nice little intro to Sundown, couple of minutes or so.. "Valland55" seems very impatient to get to the one Gordy song he knows, 10 mins a bit exaggerated seeing as the whole thing is only 4.37.. Oh, and there`s only one "the" in "the", leastways there is in England, where we know about ENGLISH. But feel free to make up your own version as you see fit..

  • Why is a simple minded person bound to be ignorant? Or rather... How is a fan of Lightfoot (just for the record, I'm not) simple minded?I know a few people who like this kind of music, mostly, they are quite intelligent, mostly they care for things that happen around them, and, what's best about them, they don't judge you because of the music you listen to...

  • I am an old fan of Gordon Lightfoot and yes I admit it, I am simple minded but not in the classic sense of the phrase. I learned a long time ago that the simple approach is almost always the best approach, hence I love the simple sound of his music.

  • please get a camera.....a real one......

  • please get a camera.....a real one......

  • cool, just like being at the concert. I had cheap seats too.

  • I think Gorden Lightfoot is a great singer....

  • its a jeff lebowski kind of thing that is...if you are in the dimension kenny was before he went gay country.......lol

  • had'nt even heard of the guy untill 12 months ago when jeremy vine (radio 2) played `if you could read my mind` i was gobsmacked at his blokes talent. gotta buy his cd's asap. brilliant!

  • back in the day, gordon lightfoot was up there with neil diamond, john denver, bto, chicago transit authority, earth wind and fire, sony and cher, etc. he was on top of the heap, too. and he was great! he will always be great.

  • and...............kenny rogers, just to see what condition my condition was in ya ya ya ya what condition my condition was in

  • Great stuff. From where it was shot, you can't help but feel like part of the audience.

  • WHAT WHO SAID HES FROM FLORIDA]

    hes all we got man!

  • HEY NOW! we aint got much, but to exclude neil young, im in shock....what about rush? canada has a few damn good bands thank you very much...

  • neil young i shouldnt have forgot, thanks for catchin me. as for rush, i guess they were good, never was a big fan, but then i was kinda born after their days.

  • dude take my word for it, rush is amazing give it a listen. there were jamming while i was just a baby too but now im older and they still rock. as for neil well who doesnt love neil young?

  • tru dat

  • Kataklysm for one is from Quebec, and a damm great metal band if you like metal.

  • Joni Mithcell, Bruce Cockburn, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, The Band, etc., etc. Come on now, there are lots of classic artists from Canada.

  • and Leonard Cohen, k.d. lang, Shania Twain, Avril LaVigne, Alanis Morrisette, Gizelle McKenzie, Buffy Sainte Marie, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Paul Anka, Ben Heppner (classical), Rufus Wainwright, Allison Crowe and many more.

  • Yeh, chibinski these guys have given us so much.

  • what about burton cummins and randy bachman??

    hank snow??

lot of great talent comes from Canada

  • Why am I hearing ribbon of darkness and seeing a title Sundown?

  • you aren't.

  • The first 1:43 of it IS "Ribbon Of Darkness",but he does go into "Sundown".

  • your right i was wrong, i didnt listen to the song first

    im dumb

  • This song, without fail, makes me want to dance!

  • Canada know for two things; Gordon Lightfoot and socialism.

  • I like it when Gord does a medley .. it's so cool that Rick is finally playing the Jazz bass he bought in Florida in the early 90's .. they are such a tight band although I really miss Pee Wee's Steel guitar

  • Great CANADAIN , no more said

  • Hey phill shut up Gordon Lightfoot is pure breed Canadian so do not call him a floridian

  • Sorry Phil Gordon Lightfoot Born Noverber 17th 1938, Orillia, Ontario, Canada. Your right about one thing Great singer, song writer and poet.

  • no he was not born in florida he was born in canada

  • good tunes!man keep it up!

  • I also had tickets to the show that he went down in orillia, and saw the makeup show. It was special. Did a 3rd encore, cold on the shoulder. All my children have also seen him.

  • I was at this show in toronto. seen him at least 30 times in concert. Was a very emotional show for me. Ribbon of darkness and sitdown young stranger blew me away. I acually moved to orillia, saw the shows there.

  • no one at my school knows Gordon Lightfoot i cry everytime someone says (who?)....

i am so glad i have a dad who made me listen to John Denver and him the Gordon Lightfoot

  • heck yeah. there's so much great music out there. what do you think of harry chapin?

  • love cats in a cradle!!!!!by him!!

  • that's a great one. I love "Flowers are Red". Lightfoot, Croce, and Chapin are some of the best ever.

  • And don't forget 'Time in a Bottle.' A little sappy, but still a kick ass Croce song.

  • One of his best for sure, I love that song!

I miss the days of singer/songwriters. they're the best.

  • Hey, i grew up listening to Gordon and John and love all their songs and I'm a young guy so don't feel alone :) And I have my dad to thank for all of it!

  • thanks!! ^_^

  • Ah, a father to be lauded! Mine did the same, including Harry Chapin... and I'm so glad that he did.

  • yup...

  • lovely !

  • Hey, Who snuck in a camera?

    What a great Show!

  • This Texan thinks he is great. He is sooo underrated here in America. Thank you Canada, for Gordon, Rush, Shania Twain, Triumph, and Pamela. Good Luck, God Bless Y'all, and May the Force (Jesus) Be With You! Amen

  • and celine maybe

  • this guy doesn't get the recognition he deserves here in America. I think he's the greatest!

  • I love his songs and voice. So many good musicians come from Canada. :)

  • This man almost died a few years ago.........wow......he is an amazing Canadian.............his music will live on.....long after he has passed from this world...........Long Live Mr. Lightfoot

  • It'd be nice if those morons would't clap.

  • he did that at the concert i was at. it brought a few chuckles throughout the crowd. i thought he was waiting for the crowd to say "over me". then he changed chords and went into "sundown" lol it was funny

  • He seems to have lost most of the lower register in his voice as a result of his illness. His voice is still better than Dylan's, though. He's still kicking, and still singing. Here's wishing he keeps it up for many, many more years.

  • He was mighty ill a fews years back.

  • I liked this song {Sundown}so much I learned to sing and play it myself.

  • Thanks for the info...he has such a great voice...I was 'introduced' to his music thru George Hamilton IV, who sang some of his songs....

  • can someone tell me if he died a few years ago...after the PBS special ???...or is he still alive..?? thanks

  • Still alive, he will be appearing at the Verizon theater in Houston Texas June 24th

  • Dang... I lived in Houston for 23 years and no longer live there, but saw him once in The Woodlands (near Houston) in the late 90s and his voice was still perfect, but he looked very ill.

  • I saw him in the Woodlands in 1991 and 1993, I don't remember him being here in the late 90's but I could have missed it.

  • You may be right...may have been 1993 -- he sang what he said was a new song, Wild Strawberries, and I see that's on an album he did in 1993.

  • he's still alive,i seen him play the same concert here in newfoundland canada like a month ago

  • I remember this song (sundown) when I was a young boy. I've heard it the other day on a net station (the drive, music from the sixties and seventies, go there!), and I felt like a young boy again. It felt good.

  • NOTSUNDOWN!!!

  • Watch the whole video before posting.. Have a nice day.. :)

  • saw him in the 70's when i was just a young thing. i miss those days.
