Lady with the bull nose@ 3:24 (we know she's from the Bay's Castro District) Dude with his Gf/Wife/Lover/Possible Feminine friend who he asked to join him@ 1:17 (we know he's trying to keep it D.L. that he's from the Bay's Castro District.) Haha he's lovin' this moment. Than @ 3:17 - 3:21, The award for the most lively MoFo at the show..The Back Up Guitarist!! He's really getting his one shot at the limelight, and that's leading the clap to wake the zombies. Look at his swaying!! 'Nuff said hah!
BTW, the girl 2nd from the right @ 1:36 - 1:46 is getting her "sing on" especially when she hits those notes for "deep down under," hahah! Than her spidey senses go off hard as she senses the camera creepin' on her singing haha! On top of all this the guy in the middle is straight in a trance; more than any of the ladies in the venue; it was definitely girls night out for the 5 of them HAH! This is all to going back to my point of the zombie-esque crowd. No one is alive, except for a select few:
teeny boppers come strictly for Your Body Is A Wonderland and Half of My Heart. I mean I love those songs but if Voodoo Child or one of his hidden gems were played only a percentage of the crowd would appreciate it as opposed to the majority who are there for the radio hits; and this goes for John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, Alicia Keys and many other talented artists. Just a shame... Great song regardless hahaha.
I really dislike the crowd, the honestly look like zombies. It sucks that the following she's gathered come to shows for tracks like this as opposed to her gems. I mean I'm sure she has fans who know what's good from what's just a poppy tune; but I feel as if the majority of the people at that show went bananas when Love Song came up; as if they came solely for that song; and that's a shame especially when that happens to a lot of great artists these days. Ex: John Mayer has so many gems but
She's awesome, I just wish she didn't attract these zombie fans with this song (some of the facial expressions in the video).. her other songs are a bit too creative for the following this single generated -- and of course it suffers from being an antithesis song that appealed to the very people she was trying to escape.. At least, so goes my interpretation of what she meant..
I read somewhere that the song is about how the record company wanted her to write a love song because it would make more money and she refused. But it kind of backfired. Oh well, if she didn't want the attention she wouldn't have signed a contract. She is great though.
I expected as much.. that's why I say "antithesis;" she wrote the song for what seems a clear reason, it's only that any irony intended in naming it "Love Song" worked against that, as you say... anyhow! Her new CD is on the way and she'll be at Lilith Fair and has a bunch of July tour dates popping up!!!
