  • when doctor who came on, i must say i was having a little party in my head!

  • Hi, do you have the university challenge theme music in a separate file? x

  • 7:16 - Sausage on a fork!

  • What's the name of the university challenge theme? Thanks :)

  • I have University Challenge running through my head Monday afternoons in anticipation of beating my partner at the questions from Jeremy Paxton. Yah, I usually win. :)

  • Ah, Ronnie Hazelhurst

  • Blackadder Goes Forth and Doctor Who are my favourites :)

  • Family fortunes. You say Pizza, our survey says (loud buzzing noise)

  • I haven't heard the Brookside theme for years! Sounds like it was poured straight out of a Roland D50. And Crossroads ... I half expected Mike Pinder from the Moody Blues to chime in.

  • @polbecca Much as you're right about the Brookside theme, I suddenly felt a lot better on hearing it :)

  • I loved grange hill that was essential viewing.

  • the good old days of tv no call and vote 4 this that and the other. sadly these days have gone, thanks 4 sharing

  • goodies, HIGNFY and doctor who are legendary themes

  • Hey John,

Do you have the tune that BBC showed at the beginning and end of all cricket broadcasts?

  • @sriniravimanutd, Yes I do have the BBC Cricket music. I can E-mail you an MP3 if you don't mind telling me your E-Mail address.

  • @johnmartin1097 and the BBC snooker theme and f1 theme too?

  • oh these all take me back, how I loved "Brookie"

  • lol, gotta love are you being served?

  • Thanks for these

  • Grange Hill and Give Us A Clue did indeed have the same theme by Mr Hawshaw. Chicken Man was production music from an LP.

The original theme to University Challenge was called College Boy.

The Crossroads version here is from that poor edit of the 7inch from 88. Search on You Tube and you will find the rare minute version that some b**** nicked from my upload on another site.

  • Love the proper Grange Hill theme! Better than that crappy funky non-entity of a tune in the 90s.

  • Don't like the strings version of University Challenge - prefer the camp jazzy one with the "DING DONG"!

  • Hated that version of Family Fortunes!

Never noticed the salute to "Johnny One Note" in Newsround before! HAHAHAHA!

Bulleye had two themes if I remember rightly - the first was discarded after one or two series.

  • i am sure Grange Hill and Give us a clue had the same theme tune.

  • @steviep33

Not sure how you work that one out!

  • Blackadder theme tune <3 I love the one from the second series as well.

  • Newsround the only TV news broadcast in the world to be named after it's presenter.

  • liked three 1.part of the a team ( the 118 118) bit) 2. grange hill and doctor who

  • John Craven's newsround....legend.

  • I prefer the 60's original of Dr.Who which I have on CD with the spooky bassline and melodyline!

  • Good for you Anthony, good for you!

  • Aww. Many a Sunday afternoon was spent at my Nan and Grandad's house in the late 80s and early 90s watching Bullseye.

  • KevCityboy, Same here!

  • Do you have the Paul McCartney and Wings version of the Crossroads theme??

  • I had to wait 9 minutes to hear something I liked. Best theme tune ever.

  • fantastic - I occassionally feel like a twat loving tv themes so much, Love University Challnege!

  • When you listen to these themes out of context the Brookside one sounds like it could come straight off Gary Numans album "The Pleasure Principle".

  • The Crossroads theme in full is great!

  • ohhhh Even Crossroads is on here hmmmm

  • Ha ha, great stuff. Good grief, how did a show as awful as 'Crossroads' get such a great theme tune?1?!

  • How does awful last 24 years... ...because to some it ain't awful. Such is life. Still nice tune.

  • Crossroads is not awful but the new Crossroads was. Crossroads did have an awful theme tune used from September 1987 to the last episode from the 4th April 1988.

  • wow, that took me right back, at one point i was sitting cross legged on the sofa with my knight rider pyjamas on ready for bed, lol. I'm ok now though. excellent.

  • i miss brookside its nice to hear the tune

  • damn first time ive ever done that:( posted the wrong video repsonse sorry! Good selection of theme tunes:)

  • Foreye, which video response were you ment to post? I can remove the wrong one if you want me to.

  • I was ment to repsond with my television part1 not my bbc news countdown;) Sorry about that!

  • OK, I'll remove the BBC News Countdown.

  • Sorry Foreye, I accidentally removed both you video responses. Could you post the one you did want again please?

    Johnmartin1097.

  • For some reason youtube will not allow me to repost it oh well it is still on my page;)

  • Yer, Crossroads is such a good tune. Didn't Paul Mac. and Wings do a version too?

  • Yes, McCartney did some very strange things at the lowest points in his career. Moments of madness, I suppose.

  • Yep, ace version, excellent guitar solo too!

  • Crossroads for the win.

  • Newsround used to kick ass until they started dumbing it down and being really patronising.

  • eastenders!

  • doctor who is the best

  • Blankety Blank and Are You BEing Served?- perfect examples of the greatness of the great Ronnie Hazelhurst.

  • I love "Are You Being Served?", which is on PBS television & BBC America. I wish we could get the spin-off "Are You Being Served, Again?" in America (which is called Grace & Favor in the UK). Oh well.

  • Nice thanks.

  • i think university challenge theme tune is nice

  • @dim432 yeah it does :D

  • @dim432 i love that show when it comes to astonomy :D

  • I love The A-Team!

I also love this video series.

  • some theme tunes are embarrassing like family fortunes other are great like red dwarf theme and the grandstand theme

  • Doctor Who Rocks !!!!! (:

  • I vaguely recall Give Us a Clue nicking the Grange Hill theme for a spell...

  • "Part Tree" LMAO :)

    Nice compilation though, nostalgia FTW.

  • Thanks Pal!.

  • some may consider this sad, I don't. :)
