i've been a fan of mildred pierce since a became a fan of joan crawford. i was a bit unsure about this new 2011 version. but MY GOD, i watched the 5 episodes already and kate and evan ROCKED those roles, i love that fact that mildred was portrayed here more "human" in the 1945 movie she was more "vulnerable" so i LOVE this adaptation which is so close to the book.

It is going to be so tough to watch this without making comparisons to the original. I'm a huge fan of the original and I felt a bit unsure that a modern version was necessary because the original is too good to try and re-adapt. The original is extraordinary and Kate Winslet: Suitable choice for the title role but I'm not sure about Evan Rachel Wood as Vita. She does pull off Vita's ruthlessness nearly as convincingly as the actress that plays her in the original.

This is not a remake of the movie. As far as I understand it's based on the book. For that reason, there s no point in comparing it to the movie. Im sure the original was good and Joan´s acting was great, but Kate is such an amazing actress, and she has given excellent performances, including her award winning performance in The Reader. Im sure this wont be the exception.

the old version of mildred p. is a classic .i watched the 1&2 part miniseries ,it was alright. it would have made a great "present day" movie.can't wait to see the rest.i like do overs.

@Gracie51086 they don't release ther music on itunes etc. you have to buy the cd usually but i suggest u try dvd video softdrive free youtube to mp3 converter. it is free and safe and you can just google it. and then you can find a version on here and use the program to convert it
