thanks. with the serenaders al dodge does a uke solo, but he doesn't really play the melody. the saw in their version is great though. one of my all time favourite bands.
Awesome...again! I suppose you make those arrangments up yourself, but if you know of anyplace that has tabs for this style of playing? I'd really be grateful -thanks for sharing.
I learn the melodies I play either by ear or from sheet music. I would never recommend learning from tabs, as it's not creative, basically you just do what you're told. Get the chords for this (or any) tune and try to figure out what I'm doing by yourself. Good luck!
(sigh) I was afraid you'd say something like that. I've been stuck at the chord shape stage for some time now so I guess I really should learn where all the notes lie on the fretboard and get some sheet music. All the best...
Try chord melody style. That's what I play (if you ignore the picking). Learn chord inversions rather than notes, add a finger here and there and you're starting to play melody all by itself...
I've been trying to figure the chords for this for some time now, and I'm seemingly getting nowhere.. :(
I've read the other comments and I know your against tabs and stuff but a simple list of chords would really make my day. :)

I would love to play tenor like Crumb in that band...and it is also easily one of the best bands...

The Cheap Suit Serenader's do a version of Home - sounds lovely on the uke.

ARE YOU USING STEEL STRINGS?

no way, that would kill both my ukulele and my fingers. on this uke i have black hilo strings.
