  • Wonderful lyrics, music and expression by this female singer.

P.S. I feel sad, very sad.

  • sorry I have not heard of it . Jus curious, could u tell me more of the circumstance of what u heard? Is it referring to something special about the erhu used by the composer in his time or is it referring to something that is going to be made today?.

  • @Nanyanguo well I was looking up erhus online and one store that sells them called Eason had an erhu and it said "This is a low pitched Erhu or Er Quan Hu, specially made to play the tune Er Quan Ying Yue. The Erquan Hu is made of Red Sandalwood and made by Wan Qi Xing from Suzhou." So I just figured from that wording that this song used a lower pitched erhu.

  • 曲,词,唱 一流!

    导演,编制,掌声,九流!

  • 請問Chin,可以告訴我那廣東歌者和詞曲名稱嗎?拜託

  • cctv... fake applause.. egh...

  • @PhinnyCobbler Have some respect. You're acting like a child. If you are yourself giving the ''fake applause'', then you're just a fool. It's just a performance... cctv pretty much has nothing to do with it other than the fact that they are showing it on the tv... and if you are talking about the audience giving a ''fake applause'', I don't think they were all hired by cctv just to applause... grow up and have some respect.

  • @GZH1234 No, I mean they probably used an applause machine because the government wants its people to enjoy this, and by making fake applause, they're conveying that this is something to enjoy. other than that, you're just being a buster.

  • @PhinnyCobbler What if it's a performance.. like in some theatre or something.... you really can't tell if this is or not.... either way, it is something to enjoy, and they did a great performance. I doubt they actually put an applause machine in... this is cctv but its not the government that runs it... the government just approves of it, checks over it, etc but its run by people who aren't governmental... You are basically saying this is not something to enjoy and that they sucked at it.

  • @PhinnyCobbler And why do you even have to bring politics into this? you're just being an ass by doing that you know...

  • 普通話唱起來就是喲寫不著調

  • @a070250 我听过香港广东女歌影星所演唱的粤语‘二泉映月’那才叫人韵味无穷,余音缭绕。。。。。。

  • 跳舞的人是多餘的

  • @josephlu1996 Agree :)

  • Can I found somewhere the lirics in the Pinyin so I can study language

    Dou Xie

  • I have found the lyric to this song in the Internet. If you are learning Chinese, you should be able to find the Pinyin in a dictionary. The singer is from southern China, her pronunciation of several words is not perfect. But these small mistakes are negligible for such a beautiful song.

  • This music was started by a blind street musician HuaYanjun alias Ah Bing who played it on his erhu. After his death several decades ago, it has always been played as an erhu solo piece or by orchestras. First time I m hearing it being sung. Wonder since when was the lyrics added for it to bcome a song as well? The lyrics do sound like a poetic tribute to HuaYanJun who lived a melancholic life all his life as a lonely orphan and poor blind street musician in his village.

  • @Nanyanguo I heard that a lower pitched Erhu was made specifically to play this song, is that true?

  • 2)

The silence in the surrounding country

Candle lights dimly projected on windows

The player wondered where his appreciator was

    One sigh after each turn-round

Only Reed Islet under the moon was in sight

His music prolonged resoundingly in the wood

The heart of the instrument trilled

Like the roaring wind through the pines

Also like the spring water gurgling

  • 3[1])

The wilt soul of music was roaming about

His living was intolerable to recall

The years pass and signs of human habitation remain

His black hair of youth had changed to grey in the twinkle of the eye

Miserably lonely, no relatives and friends in sight

How to endure the muddy in the wind and rain

But no complains on the glory and dishonour, ups and downs

  • 3[2])

Only the strings dispelled his grief of parting

Stand by at dawn and dusk

Accompanied him during misery and joy

After the drinking zest, the lingering sound still fluttered

Don't say his lofty aspiration was difficult to realize

Thousand of songs in his heart

All for the mountains and rivers in his hometown

  • 4) The heaven and earth are far and long-lasting But only human feelings are the longest Our prayers go for the beacon-fire to stop all over the world Joy and peace in each family No suffering year in and year out Even he went away like a celestial crane Added one handful pure earth to the kind-heartedness Such a feeling continues There is aroma of orchids at the farthermost Your music echoes in the running spring
  • 1)

Listen to the music from a distance

    Who was he after dusk

Walked along the street with a Pipa on his back

Whiffs of autumn wind blew his black sleeves up and down

    In the dim moonlight

His thin shadow was on the slate path

    He tottered in the alley

The winding road lead him to the end of a little bridge

  • Wish I coud have Chinese text in Pinyin. Wo xiang yao zhehe zhi de Zhongguo danci. Xienzai wo xue Zhonggwen. Dou xie.

    -----------------------------------------

    真感動

    竟然哭了

  • I grew up listening to the music
