snakes are clean, beautiful, sensitive sentient animals. they are also smart and if you're gentle with them they will respond accordingly. have known many wild snakes in my 6 decades of roaming and find them to be much cooler than most consumers

Humans do killing and fearing all the got not understand,that´s the problem we have. we schould learn to respect all these animals we don´t understand and let they life. i hope we learn it fast,otherwise we are one day the only species of this world. we hat to learn that we cannot take all the places on earth for us and wonder why snakes be found in our gardens

People just don't understand this phobia! We know most snakes are not poisonous! some people have phobias of clowns, little people and even oranges. It's about looks. For me I freak out because of the way the snake looks and moves.

people are so afraid of snakes and I dont understand why. you have a better chance of getting bit by a well behaved dog, then a random undomesticated snake. i can understand being leery of poisonous ones but you dont have to form a phobia of em to be safe.

As an owner of 2 perfectly behaved snakes, I can't see why people are afraid. Can't tell you how many people I tell I own snakes and they're just like WHAT?!I can't understand the fear they have and they can't understand the love I have so I dunno...to each his own.

@ttoale in 3 weeks im about to get a "Texas rat snake", its been breed in captivity, i held it at the shop it seemed very calm.

the only thing im worried about, its been over 20 years since i held a snake, so when i held it today im worried that ill accidentally do something (totally unaware) that might upset the snake and cause it to attack me, is there any tips to get over that initial nervousness?

It's just a phobia, and I'm terrified of snakes. I can't explain it, though I do believe my phobia is rooted with Chamber Of Secrets...
