actually ip man 2 was made but Bruce Lee did appear in the movie but not like you'd expect it was a child playing the role of child Bruce lee at the end and as far as ip man 3 goes i don't think there will be one considering the way second one ended u can pretty much tell that its going to end up in Bruce lees story and will focus on Bruce lee and probably have Bruce lee somewhere in the title

From what I know, Bruce found weaknesses in Wing Chun precisely because of the lack of movement. He then took up some boxing and incorporated the whole shuffle walking into Wing Chun which he found is better. Later, he basically went around learning as much as he can and incorporating even more martial arts into his repetoire including the TKD sidekick from Joon Rhee in which he developed his famous step-in power sidekick. Jeet Kune Do is basically a freestyle martial art.
@Lukeiru There's more to it. He also wasn't fully trained on footwork for Wing Chun (which you usually do after learning the second form) when he moved to the U.S. No Wing Chun practitioners in the U.S. meant he had no way to continue his training. He didn't want to be stuck so he had to move around this obstacle. He followed a major WC principle: "Be like water" and adapted by finding other arts to fill in, and it so happened that they worked for him.

I wish they make one more Ip Man film focused on the Teacher and the Pupil (Master Lee).

The original Premise for ip man 2 was goin to focus on his relationship with a young Bruce lee, but I guess they couldn't finalize a deal with the lee family to make it official. That's why they changed it to just a quick cameo
@BlindingAnime either this whole audition process was just a publicity stunt or it was a last minute decision to not incorporate a young man Bruce Lee. I didn't really like that they made the kid overact Bruce Lee's mannerisms but I guess that's part of the joke.

I saw a clip of Ip Man 2 scene that involved the introduction of the young Bruce Lee character for the movie... it was a KID who was a look-a-like and didn't perform any action! so all this auditioning and performing martial arts was such a waste of time for you! damn man.
It takes guts to stand in front of all those people and do what you did. At least you was there and have the momories from it and was able to show what you have within you to many others. I'd be happy to be able to do one half of what you did.
imho...they should advertised it with old pics of bruce...the difference when he lived in china from a kid to teenager and when he lived in the states is black and white

This audition was very misleading and purely acted as a marketing device. The film is depicting a very young Bruce Lee who just started WC training. Your mimicking of his JKD stance would not be taken into consideration because he hadn't invented JKD at that point in time. And secondly they were looking for a 10-12 year old kid to play this role.
You have great skills and great flexibilities but this audition was just a promotional tool.
This guy is good enough to become a martial arts star, he doesn't need to impersonate someone else, pursue your dream, don't let these things drag you down, you got nice wing chun.
@turnbacktime,dude the chinese film industry has a lot of very good martial artist that surpass jet li or jackie chan,its just most chinese films that make it to the states are considered b movies and are not advertised for sale or rent.

@BlindingAnime either this whole audition process was just a publicity stunt or it was a last minute decision to not incorporate a young man Bruce Lee. I didn't really like that they made the kid overact Bruce Lee's mannerisms but I guess that's part of the joke.

@BlindingAnime Yeah! I read from local newspapers ages ago about amber chia being in the movie too,but turns out she didnt come out. I wonder what happened....

@BlindingAnime yes i was thinking the same thing bruce lee only appeared as a kid at the ending for 30 seconds and he needed to wait until he was 16 orso to take lessons from him its rather ip man 3 or 4

nobody got the part of Bruce Lee in the movie Ip Man 2. Bruce Lee wasnt even introduced until the end, and it was only a kid bruce lee. by the way, you did an awesome job!

I saw a clip of Ip Man 2 scene that involved the introduction of the young Bruce Lee character for the movie... it was a KID who was a look-a-like and didn't perform any action! so all this auditioning and performing martial arts was such a waste of time for you! damn man.

It takes guts to stand in front of all those people and do what you did. At least you was there and have the momories from it and was able to show what you have within you to many others. I'd be happy to be able to do one half of what you did.

imho...they should advertised it with old pics of bruce...the difference when he lived in china from a kid to teenager and when he lived in the states is black and white
everybody is running around with bruce in their head from what they saw in his movies...serious lack of research...there is no need for copycats..only serious actors who do their research..in any case i hope they found someone decent

dude you have been bruce lee man..although u didnt look like him that much...u should still be in the movie man...I mean they could have got bruce lee from the hong kong drama series the bruce lee story ..but again i think u should have been in it...Big Fan of Ip man and im afghan proud..i study wing chun my self and i like to say keep your head up linherong ..your doing a great job..cant wait to see u in one of these movies man..peace

This audition was very misleading and purely acted as a marketing device. The film is depicting a very young Bruce Lee who just started WC training. Your mimicking of his JKD stance would not be taken into consideration because he hadn't invented JKD at that point in time. And secondly they were looking for a 10-12 year old kid to play this role.
You have great skills and great flexibilities but this audition was just a promotional tool.

@turnbacktime,dude the chinese film industry has a lot of very good martial artist that surpass jet li or jackie chan,its just most chinese films that make it to the states are considered b movies and are not advertised for sale or rent.
