Never seen this,Awsome energy of the Mighty Van Halen...Sunday Afternoon In a Park was a cool Intro to Delight, I thought. I bet it was a Great night to be Alive.
@vampirebatt Electro-Harmonix, is that a cheap little keyboard?, mostly made of cardboard, i say this cause i remember an old EVH interview, where Ed descrided this synth as a kids toy that had a touch sensitive membrane keyboard. When i hear Eddie play the thing it sound like a montrous Moog rig. Even his synths growl....awesome!
happy to say I was at this show along with my friends Tom,Tommy,Cindy, and Todd.saw em 3 yrs in a row at The Mid South Coliseum in Memphis,79,80,and 81.I believe the openers in order were The Granatti Brothers,The Cats, and G Force
@chukhava I saw HALEN in 1980 on the 1980 INVASION tour, then like 1 year later on FAIR WARNING 1981, which was bad fucking ass....then, not on DIVER DoWN, but I saw em 2x on 1984...
wow I never thought something like this would surface! I was at the Oakland Show '81 that was filmed & I remember this song performance, I always wondered how he did that tune live, If it's a mini moog synth how's he getting more than one note at a time? I recall only seeing one synth but that was a hell of a long time age!
I saw them three days later in Jackson, Mississippi on Sept. 4, 1981, and it was my first concert too. I was 14. And, I too, am still chasing the dragon. While not musically perfect, the show was. The magic Van Halen created on stage was a once-in-a-millinuem deal. The Cradle Rocked and it rocked hard!
I'm taking Whisky to the Party tonight

If you were there on June 12th then we were both there. I`m not sure what Oakland gig the 3 vids were from. They played on the 11th,12th and 13th.
