I think if you switched this argument on it's head, we live in a violent society. But how many video game players are participating in this violence. This is something that is hard to look at, but from my school experience, I hung out with the "gamers" at least most of my friends played video games several times a week if not everyday. i think david was slightly not with it, he kept saying 'violent videos' rather then games
he also, for some reason, thinks that games will cause violence due to showing violence but movies that show the same amount of violence are completly immune
also isn't it every person's right to view/not view what they want? isn't that part of a democracy?

All R18 films must be removed from other non R18 DVD areas and put into a seperate area, hidden from children. Basically, next to the fucking Porn section!

I also hope the film companies in Australia and even 21st century FOX unit and do something about this, because this will destroy the income of most companies, and sales will drop for some of Australias best R18 films! I most definatly will not be voting for Labor next election or whatever party these jokers belong too. I probs vote for Xenophon!!

I'm American, but I agree, it isn't cool to put good games and movies next to those porno DVDs and probably games, guess adults won't be getting their favorite games and dvds without being looked like a total pervert. Dude, at least put them away from the Porno section and put them in a different spot that don't embarrass those who go there to get Quake or something.

Left for Dead 1 & 2, sure it contains blood and violence. but if anything it was all about Working together to survive, hence building friendships and team orientated...

Damn I hate that Galbally. It's not "why do we need this?" It's "why not?" And there's no demonstrable reason not to have them - just because he doesn't like them. We don't need more violence in society, true, but the violence isn't real and no-one is hurt.
This is an entire nation of people. It should not be up to a small number of wusses to say what shouldn't be "allowed into the country". They make a big deal about seeing a computer model being cut up on a screen. Grow the fuck up.

@clayman1982 I'm pretty sure it's not the Internet filter that he has a lot of control over, but the reason he has veto power is because this can't be enforced at state level; people can just drive across the borders. So every AG must be in unanimous agreement about it to put it through.
After all of Atkinson's comments in all of his interviews, I'm pretty sure that he's insane, and it doesn't look like his lackeys are breaking that trend at all, even with the drop from 50 to 10 I.Q.

i think the QC knows about as much about video games as i do about yak knitting. kid wants a game, its R, parents say no.....simple. or leave the current system and said game is rated MA so kid can get it. e.g Modern warfare 2, FEAR 2 etc etc even tho they were rated 18+ in every other country
