Dolphins may be able to read but I don't think this is proof. True, they can recognize symbols but I would say this is more associating symbols with a certain response (a conditioned response), not reading.
If dolphins can string different symbols together to create a NEW response, that would be true reading.
(BTW, chimps and gorillas can do that.)
