  • when she gets to "ooooohhhhh baby... what you done to me?"...... Thank you Jesus!!!!!! #Church

  • Love this Lady...

  • I just have hard time beleiving she will be 70 years of age soon. She is one of those people i never want to get old so she can continue to sing forever.....she is just that much apart of me. I grew up on her and my mom said knew alot of her tunes while still in the crib and wearing diapers.

  • Great reminder of Aretha in the sixties...started collecting her Columbia stuff while in High School then got to experience this awesome Diva live in a small club in 64...great to have her back in top form & don't miss "Sweet Sixteen"...she nails it!

    Bravo Aretha!!!

  • Great performance- therhythmreview

  • ONLY YOU SWEETY KNO DAT WHAT YOU DONE TO ME

  • this remains brilliant soul up to this day and long after

  • The only Queen of Soul...There will never be another...She reigns alone....Aretha believes in a healing God...I believe she is going to pull through this....

  • I've always had a special soft spot for this lady, this magnificent artist.

  • Aretha Franklin was playing for Preisdent obama

  • Bless Queen Ree - she's fighting a hard battle - pancreatic cancer. All my prayers are with you dear lady.

  • Be strong baby. Lv U.

  • I read today where Aretha was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. God Bless you Aretha- My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult fight.

  • i just played this classic for my girlfriend she was singing it this morning!.

  • THE QUEEN NUMBER 1

  • Get back to health AF. We love you.

  • essas três vocalistas também cantam muito... onde estão elas hoje?

  • God bless you, Aretha

  • I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for

  • So wonderful..... :D

  • Great!

  • time listed her as being the #1 best singer of all time. MJ was only in the 20s!! that pissed me off.

  • OK. I THINK I JUST DIED AND HAVE GONE TO HEAVEN! ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF SOUL....MISS ARETHA FRANKLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aretha sang this amazingly, but the true genius is Carole King. Carole wrote this brilliant song for Franklin. Carole also sang and recorded her own version and released it on her Tapestry album a few years after Franklin. Carole King has got to be the greatest song writer in history. She has written a number of my all time favorite songs.

  • I was born 10 years after this was recorded, and am left in tears by the beauty and power and purity of her voice. Where did popular music go wrong? Why do we celebrate the image managed mediocrity of the Lady Gagas not the modern day equivalents of Aretha Franklin?

  • i prefer the lyrics altered a bit... perhaps "I make you feel like a natural woman?" yeah. a total score.

  • hye, hello!! thanks for the information.. but they aren't I'm sorry.. I can't find her, it's disappointing ...but I'm very thankful to you to try to help me.. some day I'll find her.. until the time comes.. I'm going to delete this comment, because the information that I give, is not enough to be helped, I realize that of. Well I'll find her soon or later... it's a question of time..

Thank you very much!!! Is very gentle for your part to try to help me!!! I'm very grateful, sincerely, Anabel.

  • @Equinox2290 do you know any songs by her? btw where are you from? por k su espanol esta bien

  • Comment removed

  • @Equinox2290 hey Anabel, i'm so glad you finally found who you were looking for and that you've shared her with me. I hope you keep searching for good music. ::)

    chau

    D

  • @Martin121929 thanks for your help!!! I appreciate a lot ;D

  • @Equinox2290 no no no... su ingles!! esta bien!!! !jjajjajaja..pardon my mistake, but if you know any songs of her's. it would help narrow down the search a lot.

  • Hye xD you don't make any mistake

I don't remember now of any name of of her songs..long often listened by me

What I remember is that she sang a very classic songs like " Your dady was rich and your mom was good looking" only song remembered.

I feel embarrassed to not remember anything else .. I never felt before .. I'm so sorry .. but since you asked however, I will try again and again.. perhaps she sang the same songs than other singers..what a mess i'm I doing.. that is not helping a lot..

  • I'm so grateful for your interest in helping. When I find the her, I will make a comment, for you to know her too, if I ever finds

I looked en the "Spotify" radio, for singers, since the 60's till 80's.. and nothing yet.. as in YT and in goolge.. but no answer..

So I'll keep watching over there.. perhaps some day.. if you has some idea let me know.

    Anabel.

  • @Equinox2290 i have it... it's either Ella Fitzgerald and/or Billy Holliday

  • Hye!!

I have been looking for both singer, and both has a very similar voice, and kind of soul songs... both sings the same song too"summer time" ( thanks for guessing the song to which I referred) .. but I've heard other songs by they, and are not the singer I am looking, but you are getting close. I remember of another song: "a man about the boy".. i looked for that song, and I found nothing.. well I'll keep trying.. but you are on the good way, I was wrong with the period of time...

  • @Equinox2290 Perhaps... JANIS JOPLIN... was big in the late 60s and early 70s. She does a really soulful rendition of Summertime. I'm glad to be of help. music is one of the best things in the whole universe. It would help to know the race of the woman, or names of any other songs she wrote or even any other artists she collaborated with.

  • Hye!! well.. it was definitely Bily Holiday.. I have been looking for her and listenig a lots of songs (not them all!! she have a hundreds of them)... and I'm sure that is Billie Holiday. But like it's about 8 years ago that I don't listen her.. I remember her songs diferent... but it's because of my...

I'm very grateful for helping me, you almost go crazy for my fault, I was a mess, it was very kind of you, if I can ever help you with something, do not hesitate! Anabel.

  • It is true that Whitney Houston's grandmother used to do back voices for Aretha?

  • @17jcry It was her Mother Cissy Houston who used to sing back up for Aretha and also other greaes like Elvis etc.

  • Whitney's mom Cissy Houston sang on pretty much all of Aretha's hit while at Atlantic records.

  • I'm such a fan... there will never be anyone else like Aretha... :)

  • With the gift of a natural voice like this she can sing anything she wants.

  • her voice is natural resource. god bless the queen

  • a voice that was so flawless, it really did sound like an instrument that GOD made from scratch....it was a thing of beauty. Almost staggering how effortless she sang, then.

  • Carole King certainly made history writing this song, but Aretha made it great.

  • what a voice, what a song, what a woman!

  • She's my diva, ever...!!!

  • don t miss american idol winner fantasia vh1 show "fantasia for real" that airs on vh1 jan11

  • @rashard418 suck my balls

  • The best R&B song ever...written by a white, Jewish girl from Brooklyn!

  • oh, my God, what a wonderful voice..

  • .

    Bravo, Lady Soul, Queen 'Retha!

  • bella voce pecatto ke nn e dalla mia epoca

  • Carole King Melody + Gerry Goffin Lyric + Aretha Franklin Vocal = Epic Win.

  • yes carole king wrote this song with Gerry Goffin and she also recorded it. What a dynamic combination of a class songwriter and soulful singer.

  • this is why she is the queen of soul to this day...

  • A fantastic song to put your woman in the mood

  • Is this a song that was write by Carol King, isn't?

  • Yes, in 1967 for Aretha (original artist)

  • Yes, in 1967 for Aretha (Original artist) ^ ^

  • yeah

  • OH! Amazing is Right

  • wow this song is 41 years old now

  • Wrong. (You make me feel like) A natural woman was recorded in 1966 and released in 1967. So it's a 43 years old song (or 42, if you pick the release date as your reference).

  • Baby, baby, oh baby....u made my toes curl!!!! *sigh* ♥♥♥

  • Amazing voice....amazing song!!!!

  • Aretha had an amazing voice. Respect to the Queen of Soul. Just one question:

    James Brown vs Sam Cooke

    Who's better?

  • vocally, Sam Cooke far superior singer. Brown was probably greater all around entertainer, but then again Cooke could just stand their and capture audience with his voice. Really their styles were just totally different.

  • I will say sam because james was more of a performer than a singer.Aretha could sing so well but today its all gone, her voice is so raspy and dry, where did all the magic go?

  • True... but at least she can still sing better than most of the vocalists these days...

  • she used to smoke cigars and she didnt rest her voice when she was sick she just keep singing back than they didnt have proper knowledge of how to use their voices right also her weight keep going up and down to me she still got power it takes alot of time to get used to the new vocals

  • Not to slight James, but Sam was definitely better!

  • Sam Cooke Is Waaay Better, No Disrespect to James Brown. TheNippyfan who's your favourite?

  • Definitely Sam Cooke! Like you said no disrespect for James but people I know say that James Brown is better and I prefer Sam. Well now I know that many others agree I can declare that Sam's better.

  • How can you compare James Brown to Sam Cooke? They were two different artists with completely different styles of music. James Brown was all soul and funk. Sam Cooke was soul and pop. That's like comparing Beyonce to Lauryn Hill...two incredible artist who are great at what they do in there own styles.

  • i do prefer sam

  • Aretha! You Go Girl! This is why you are crowned the Queen of Soul!

  • haha,,

    in2food: i can't believe u actually said that.. lol..

nicely put.. but putting things aside, she'll still remain the queen of Soul..

  • magique !!! fabuleux !!!! the queen of soul !!! divin, extraordinaire !!!!

  • fabulosa,maravilhosa, canta muito

  • the queen!!

  • Never knew how much my soul was in the lost and found until you came along to claim it. I am All woman when with you.

  • im 18 and im crazy 4 this woman what this woman does vocally espically in 70s is 2 amazing to even put the words together i luv this greatest singer alive

  • BRILLIANT!

Aretha's voice makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

This is either mixed well, or just sounds good on my laptop speakers, because Aretha's voice is at the forefront of a lovely basic arrangement, particulalry the horns section.

I could listen to this all day, Thank you for posting it.

  • who could play her in a movie?

  • You guys know that Carole King made the song and not Aretha, right? But she does really a good job! Damn, no one beats you Aretha! :)

    Whitney is close though.

  • actually aretha made this song.

  • No, she didn't.

Aretha made it famous, but Carole Kind wrote the song.

  • with Jerry Wexler and Gerry Goffin. This is the first ever version, specifically written for Ree. Released in 67 by Ree, and 71 by Carole King in a totally different arrangement, on her magnificent Tapestry album.

  • Man, her voice was awesome back then! Plus, she could hear soooo very well...nearly perfect pitch, tone, and very power lungs! These are some of the many reasons, she still get's soooo many props today. Her numerous awards are even more proof, of her decades of major achievements in entertainment.
