What a crock! Its a capacitor... capacitors supply VARS and only VARS. Unfortunately for a residential customer you only pay for Watts! Most every video will only show the reduction in line amps that the unit will provide, they never put a wattmeter on the line because it will never reduce watts. It will reduce line amps simply because the cap is supplying VARS instead of the utility. Simple!
Power Factor Correction on a residential service will have no noticable effect. Possibly a small 1-3% boost in eff. but definately not more, as a matter of fact you can add too much and cause more cuurent to flow. Watts do not change at an even ratio with amps, the formula simply is Amps X Volts X Power Factor=Watts watts is the constant in the formula. PFC can help Industrial and some commercial customer who pay a bad power factor penalty on their bill.
And the TV news wonders why its ratings are down. No technical explanation and vague anecdotes taken as fact. The energy doesn't become "less efficient" and it is most definitely not like "adding an amplifier to boost your TV reception." (HA!) This product is pure snake oil marketed to a populace with no understanding of electricity. As Public Enemy said, "Don't believe the hype."

I agree with Ruxper, that explains nothing and offers inaccurate hype.

Ruxper, obviously you dont understand electricity either. I have one and it saves 150-200 dollars a month.

If you are saving 150 -200 dollars per month, and you are a residential consumer, the savings are most definitely not due to this device!
