  • well I put the new part in a few minutes ago and I have a load going as I type.

I'm going to be investigating my mom's GE washer she bought 2 years ago and it stopped working. at least mine lasted me 7 years so far and I bought it at a 2nd hand store.

  • mr james you just saved me a ton of money. on this past tuesday my foot got ran over by a fork lift at work then that night I found out the washer quit working. talk about a double whammy. i considered buying a new one but thanks to being off for a week or two money is going to be way too tight.

so I was looking for a used unit. but I couldn't find one that was decent for under $150 on craigslist.

so I took my washer apart just for the heck of it, and viola...a broken coupler. ebay $6.00.

  • do you have to take that plate off the transmission to replace the coupling?

  • @grandpap131 No. You can change it without removing the plate. Best of luck, James.

  • You are a good man... :-) Thanks so much for taking the time to share your valuable info. Very helpful.
